The FSS will go live today. You can check the club site later for the url. Thanks for your patience while we got this finished. The system is very simple from the user perspective. The complicated part is the part you don't see as we have to be able to installment bill, change shipping docs, change cc info, etc. The admin side is VERY complicated.
I hope that the information below will answer most of your questions. If you have more, use the link at the club site GIJoeClub.com and we will answer and post them at the FAQ.
Thanks again for your support and patience!
Brian
1. You must be a member of the G.I. Joe Collectors’ Club to take advantage of the Figure Subscription Service.
2. There is NO reason to rush the site or be in a hurry as this is a build to order system. We will build as many as you order, so we cannot run out. YOU CAN ORDER AS MANY AS YOU WANT, there is no limit.
3. What you do need to be concerned about is the closing date of the subscription service, which ENDS on September 4th at midnight.
4. You can either pay In Full or by Installment. There will be 3 installments. When you subscribe and choose pay by Installment, you will be billed for the first two months’ shipments. Then sometime during the second month, you will be billed for the 3rd and 4th months’ shipments and sometime during the 4th month you will be billed for the final 2 months’ shipments.
5. Your free surprise 13th figure will come with your final shipment during the 6th month.
6. The figures will be shipped in random order. All members receive the same figures each month. The figure pairings will not be preannounced. So if you don’t mind, when you get your shipment each month, PLEASE do not go online and tell what you received. We want each shipment to be a surprise for as many members as possible.
7. The cost is $294 if Paid In Full (plus shipping) or three Installments of $98 (plus shipping). Please note that there is a $3 online processing fee for each billing. We take Visa, Discover or MasterCard. Unfortunately we cannot accept Money Orders or Checks for this offer.
8. If you pick a shipping service that does not include insurance or if you don’t pick the insurance, we do not have any responsibility for replacement of lost or damaged or misdirected orders.
9. If you move or need to change your credit card during the program, you can log into your account and change it there. This will change all of your future FSS billings and shipments. We will also be sending you reminders to check your address and cc before each billing/shipment goes out. We are not responsible for shipments that are lost due to incorrect shipping information on file.
10. We are waiting on the final schedule from China so we don’t know exactly when the first figures will ship. We hope it will be by Christmas. We will announce this as soon as we get the final schedule.
11. Some of the figures (single figures) MAY be available in the Club Store after the subscriber’s figures ship. These will be at a price of $32 per figure. There is no guarantee of availability of any of the figures in the club store. If you want to ensure getting these limited edition figures, you need to subscribe to the service.
Joes x6 -Charbroil -Hit and Run -Repeater -Muskrat -Psyche-out -Spearhead -Max (Bobcat?)
Cobra x9 -Cobra Mortal (new character) -Cobra Letal -Crimson Asp (new female character) -Frag Viper x3 -SAW Viper x3
Hmm... not sure how I feel about the new characters. Depending on the color I might get the Joes and Vipers. If the Joes look too far fetched from the classic look in favor of the Night Force colors, then I'll just pass.
Going by that list, it seems Hit and Run is the new guy for the team.
Likewise, seems they gave us a few Night Force Joes already before -Tunnel Rat (ROC 2pack) -Shockwave (ROC 2pack) -Outback (Attack on Cobra Island 7pack) -Beach Head (ROC Snarler Cycle)
Looks like here's the list of exclusives for the 2013 Joecon apart from the main set and the carded Iceberg. From the event comic.
- Night Force Specialist 2-Pack (LE 800) - Rumored to be Chuckles and CrazyLegs - Night Force FLAK w/ Steeler (LE 800) - Carded Lady Jaye (LE 1000) - Night Boomer (LE 1000) - KRE-O G.I. Joe Night Force 6 Figure Set (LE 1000) - KRE-O Parachute Hit & Run (LE 500)
-The attendee bonus is a vehicle called Tiger Paw, which is a simple repaint of the ROC Tiger Claw.
- Hasbro says they are happy with the outcome of Retaliation and feel confident a new foundation for G.I. Joe is being built to ensure the longevity of the line.
- Hasbro confirms the rumors that a 3rd G.I.Joe movie has been green lite by Paramount.
- Kwinn is still coming.
- The Ultimate Cobra Commander is a completely new sculpt.
- Ultimate Duke comes with an alternate head so it can be used as an army builder.
- Crimson Guard has stickers for different ranks.
- Wave 4 will include figures that where not shipped in large numbers before along with a few new items. This is to try and get all the figures out into the hands of the consumer.
Wave 4 includes : Blind Master Cyber Ninja Dark Ninja Warrior (black ninja) Joe Colton Jinx Lady Jaye Night Viper (comics ver, ala 25th style) Red Cobra Trooper (Alley Viper?)
- Dollar store figures are being resupplied. Dollar general wave 2 will be at TJ maxx, Marshall's and online.
- Night Landing raft with Eel will have a running change with the Cobra Logo. We will start seeing it in August without the logo, but later corrected versions will have the Cobra logo. (Note: The no Cobra Logo version looks like Ultimate Torpedo).
- We could see a possible re-deco of the Combat Cruiser released to better match the transport vehicle shown at the beginning of Retaliation.
- The interior of the Eaglehawk helicopter was redone to give it more details. Hasbro really tried hard to improve upon the original design and it's flaws for this new toy. It has improved rotors, tons of footpegs, and lots of attachments for ziplines so you can have an entire team deploy from the copter at once. It will also have multiple decals you can use for customizing.
- The SDCC Exclusive this year which will be released at a later date will fill a void left by past SDCC exclusive. Folks will be surprised by the number of 3.75" figures included in it. (Rumor points to a multipack?)
The Bad news
- There will be nothing new shown today that wasn't already shown at Toy Fair in February due to the movie delay.
- The Battle Kata was phased out of the G.I.Joe: Retaliation movie because they felt Roadblock was developing as a great character on his own without the gimmick.
- G.I. Joe Retaliation wave 3 figures have been delayed till July but should ship in greater quantities.
- The second series of Micro Force has been planned but is currently on hold with no street date.
- The Eaglehawk Helicopter will be a TRU & Online exclusive. No Target or Wal-Mart.
Miscellaneous:
- The Data Viper is a new character made from real world ideas, drone, helmet. They are a moving network of tech support. The helmet offers multi-vision, using four cameras on the drone. The Data Viper uploads it's data to Drones so the data is always available even if the Viper is killed.
- The Fang boat is supposed to be boat in movie, they used what they had available at time.
- Ninja Combat Cruiser seems to be very popular to Hasbro's surprise.
- Hasbro influenced the Ghosthawk design. The studio liked it and used it in the movie.
- Hasbro very happy with the quality of their G.I. Joe Kre-O's.
- Wave 2 of Kre-O will hit in the fall and remain a TRU exclusive. This includes the Ghost Striker & Arashikage Dojo sets.
- Plans for 2014 and the 50th anniversary are still being worked on.
- Movie accurate Cobra Helicopter is possible but nothing is planned in the foreseeable future.
- Jonathon Pryce Zartan as president figure a possibility???? Hasbro has ideas for this figure and wants to see it made.
- The GIJoe Club will try to work on getting SDCC exclusives to fans easier.
- Zombies are big, but they are still staying in the vault till they find out how to use them.
THE BEST NEWS OF THE DAY:
- Hasbro will be bringing back articulation to G.I.Joe vehicle pack-in figures. No more of the 5 points of articulation.
Looks like they redid the entire c0ckpit interior, removed the back pegs from the chairs in the cargo hold. New plastic color for the canopy.
Best of all, the rotors now fold in (see the pics at the bottom of the link). It was such a huge pain to remove the rotor blades on the vintage toy when returning to the box.
Not bad, Toll Booth is a must have for collectors who want to complete their Sunbow Era Joes. Keel Haul only appeared in the comics.
With the release of Dragonksy and Big Bear, only 3 members to go to complete the "classic" Oktober Guard cast - Lt.Gorky, Wong, Gen Vaskovia. The rest are from modern IDW comics.
FSS 2.0 sign up around April or May 2013, looks like there will be the option to pay in 2 installments or as a whole full payment.
Rumor bin: -Pythona as a possible FSS figure (13th figure?) -Pythona as the possible membership 2014 figure(?) -Tiger Force most likely next year's Joecon motif -SDCC 2013 exclusive is Cobra-La? (speculation) -Alternately, next year Joecon motif is Tiger Force vs Cobra-La?
