The four initial Transformers in the Encore line--Optimus Prime, Megatron, Soundwave, and Starscream--have been released. I missed these toys the first time they came out in the mid 1980's, so I'm really looking forward to getting them all; I really like the vintage box packaging.
Any feedback on the differences, quality, etc. between these and the original G1 toys? Is the Soundwave here the original single cassette version, or is it still using the SoundBlaster mold (2 cassettes)?

For the Encore Prime, the Autobot insignia is molded on the shoulders instead of stickers. For the Encore Soundwave, it has the original single cassette version. If you buy an Encore Soundwave, better check first the placement of the stickers as I saw one with a Decepticon insignia very off center (drunk factory worker perhaps?).

How much die-cast was used? Like the originals, or more plastic? Soundwave's box seemed pretty...light. It would've been nice if they also included the headphones.... ;D

Hi! I just have to share this. Encore G1 Megatron or G1 Megatron is really a nice toy he is really up there with G1 Optimus Prime. I'm having so much fun with this toy that it may actually become my favorite. So OK he's not that articulated and his forehead is big. So what? Just look at it. I mean he's shinny and bad-ass looking. I'm very happy with this one and I hope I can persuade some of you to get it while its cheap. Megatron with decals applied is really an eye-candy! Megatron comes with a chrome sword. Very nice! Megatron has two guns! The fusion canon and this chrome gun! Chrome really makes the figure look great! This is one cool feature of this toy. You can assemble the stock and barrel extension to become a super cannon! I mean just imagine how good Masterpiece Megatron will be with that addition. Here's another neat trick. You can mount the fusion canonn and some of the barrel to give megatron a sort of shoulder mounted canon. Pretty cool! Thanks for looking.

Woah that's a mean looking megatron you got there viper2391 ... I'm planning to get that one also because I think that he is the only megatron that can transforms into a P38 that was very accurate or close resemblance from the 1986 cartoon series. The only thing that I don't like about his design is the place of the trigger its very odd it looks like um don't want to say it here hehehehe .... But its cool. I want one. That's the only megatron that I'll be having when I buy one. ;D It's my dream of having a megatron when I was a child .... ;D That one also reminds of a Gundam Hyaku Shiki with Hyper Mega Bazooka.

Quite a lot. The upper legs are die-cast, the one that connects the barrel, the skeletal shoulders and some at the back. Megatron is quite heavy. You'll like it when you have it in your hands. yo viperman, nice pics. Was wondering? how much diecast content in it? Starting to like that dude.

Ok so I managed to somehow fix his eyes. The original sticker that comes with it is awful and completely masks his nose making him look nutsty. I don't have before picture but I'm sure you know what I'm talking about. I bought some cheap magnifying lens and a tiny scissor to cut away on the eyes but they are still too small for me but I managed somehow. Its quite hard so you'll need patience. Ok so here he is with the eyes fixed (somewhat). Encore Starscream also looks good on its own. It may not be as poseable but when he's displayed his personality shines. I did not took some pictures of his alternate mode, F-15, but most of you know what it looks like now. The bad thing is that I accidentally broke-off one of its long missles. I don't know how to repair it because superglue seems weak because of the tiny and skinny part. So anyone can help me fix this? Took a peak at tfsource and a spare will cost $15 + shipping wow! I wont go that way that's why I chose to put the short missles instead. Anyone? Help!

usually, here's what i do to fix things and when i had that same or similar problem like yours.... i also use superglue/mightybond and it gets the job done but yours doesn't, right? ayaw dumikit? however, the second method always works like a charm for me, but requires a lot of patience, accuracy and some nifty tools..... there's also a third method and the last resort is the fourth one.... ;D
Tools and Materials: Pin Vise - optional but much better if you use one... drill bit - get the smallest around or use any small/slim paperclip, needle pins, or pins.... superglue - for adhesion helping hands - optional magnifying lens/glass - optional tweezers - optional but if you have a precision tip much better.... nail file - optional
Instructions: sorry, i'm not good in explaining things but will try.... find the center and make a drill in both ends of items/parts, once you make a hole, insert the drill bit or pins (cut if it needs to be shortened the length) apply small amount of glue and insert the drillbit/pin from the two separated parts, it will serve like a steel rod inside the missile..... apply necessary superglue in some parts if needed.....
btw, nice collectionz ang great photo's you got there bro!!!
