need help!!!!! i just finished painting my guncannon and for the first time wala ako angal sa pagpaint ko kasi la ako mali... pero after i topcoated everything nag 'frosty' ba un? 1st time it happend to me... can i still fix it without damaging the paint on my kit? hassle naman kasi if i have to redo everything sasayangan ko sa pagod ko just because of a stupid top coat can.. grrr... btw i used rj dull lacquer.. ty This happened to me before I used Gunze Sangyo now known as GSI Creos as top coat and got that frosty look. The reason behind it is that it's too thick (clear paint + thinner ratio) Fixed this by of course adding more thinner and adding Paint retarder that would slow down curing time. If the paint dries too quickly you get the frost. If ever you chose to retard the paint it would be very sticky during curing and a lot of dust will stick on it so be sure to put it on a glass booth or what have you un til it dries.. My 2 cents worth ..

lonewolf hehe thanks for the tips dude... pero i haven't tried using any other top coat other than the ones in spray cans.... and i don't know that a retarder is hehe... is there any difference between using the topcoat in spraycans and the bottled ones?

The one on bottles is for airbrushing.. Since your using the spray can I think it's too close to your model.. Make thinner coats and increase the distance that should help. try it on a test model first just to make sure

hope that helps.

thanks sir no3ljm and lonewolf hehe it is probably because of the cold weather coz i don't see doing anything different from my other kits except that it was really cold that morning, and ive topcoated about 2 dozen kits already... hehe
