a better look of what the garland bike is supposed to be. this isnt a takara microman release, however. its a future release by yamato, a 1/15 scale version of the bike. posted this for reference sake since the takara microman version isn't colored yet Thanks Patacat, From the beginning, I've been aware that this is a Yamato release and that it isn't a Takara Microman vehicle. However, since the first prototype pics were released, there have been several instances where Microman figures were pictured with the prototype to illustrate both scale and the ability of the toy to hold a figure. For my end, this is really more of a mix-match exercise. In preparation for the release of the garland bike, I've already gotten a "taller" Microman who should in just right with the 1/15 scale. Again, thanks for your clarification.

garvy: if u've been given d choice.. takara or yamato? heheheh Malvs, Thanks for bringing in the Takara 1/18 scale scopedog! Got it last night! Though I haven't "played" with it to the max as of yet, I can tell you that I seem to prefer the takara version over the yamato one (having owned the Yamato version for about a week before selling it!). this one has very nice deco details and is HIGHLY poseable! It is a bit pricey considering it isn't die-cast but it seems fairly sturdy nonetheless! Great piece! Cheers, Garvy

impressive. almost like mospeada's cyclone VRA....... Yup, I like this one, moreso since it transforms! At the 1/15 scale, it brings it close enough to the Microman scale for some mixing and matching! ;D

toyboxst.inwards.com/phorum/file.php?1,file=2040 tamabase.3.pro.tok2.com/toy44.htmlhima-toy.cocolog-nifty.com/blog/2006/05/post_9476.html...the Microman actually is a little bigger than Shogo and is a bit too tight in the cockpit in robot mode (presumably a female or classic figure would fit fine though). I suspect the bike is 1/15, but the original design was actually a little too tight for real life (cheated). The original proto toys of this were designed using old and new Microman figures to "test" it, too.
Additional trivia: The Garland is designed by Shinji Aramaki, director of the recent Appleseed movie and designer of many famous mechs including the ones in Mospeada and Bubblegum Crisis.
Less famously, he was a contract designer on New Microman and Microchange, and designed the BioSuits and much of the MicroChange series--notably including the cassette bike, heli, as well as the microcassettes (Laserbeak, Ravage, etc) and others. He also probably designed the Bulsonic jet, and possibly some of the other New Microman mecha (Microrider and the armored suits seem plausible!). Aramaki actually cites working on the cassette bike for Microman led him to coming up with the transforming bike design in Mospeada...which in turn led to the Garland! So the Garland toy seems appropriate as an "honorary" Microman mech. -- from Bryan of Micropolis Embassy

not much new microman releases in the past month, did tomy kill the line already? From what I've been reading on the net, the line isn't dead but is most likely being re-done. Already saw pics for a new type of Microman body. Even when it does "die", its been reborn, usually indicative of the introduction of a new body type. We'll just have to wait and see how things progress. Microman is really the type of line that has evolved ever since its start in the '70s.
