So after a poll from Bandai on which SOC will get the "R" treatment, Bandai finally announced the winners and it's Baikanfu and Dancougar. First up is Baikanfu. Bandai will be releasing Baikanfu with a totally new head, plus new diecast thigh parts and finally, what was painted yellow on the original will now be painted gold on the R version. Release date wil be Sept 2107. The bad news? Bandai jumped the SRP to 25,000 Yen. No word yet on what changes will be for Dancougar or when it will be released. Gold

Just saw this video: Skip to 9:25 mark for the diecast combining Voltron www.toyhypeusa.com/2017/03/03/playmates-toys-voltron-legendary-defender-lion-die-cast-figure/So the Diecast Lions are supposed to be $15 a pop, including the oversized Black lion. The combined diecast Voltron will be 8" tall or so. Out in August 2017? I love the pilot figures, I didn't realize there were two scales for those (detailed 6" and the smaller 4" versions that come with the lions/Paladin series). Gold

Saw this on the web, so take it with a grain of salt. Likewise, the DC Great Mazinger and Getter 1 are designated as Gx-73 and Gx-74, respectively. There were leaked images of Mazinkaiser recently, supposedly from the upcoming SOC guide book. If those are actually true, then maybe Gx-76 would be Jeeg? Edit: Found the supposed "leaked" pics. Gold

Coming Jan 2017. Not sure if there're any promotional mailaway exclusive pre-order figures this time (Eg. God Mars Gaia repaint, Zambo Ace repaint etc) but I don't think so? Credits to Taghobby.com for the original news. www.taghobby.com/?p=149820Gold

Just when you thought your wallets were safe. Bandai drops this bombshell from the recent Tamashii Nations event. It looks like they plan to release it piecemeal... one Battle Machine at a time. Hopefully they can get all 5 out even if the sales for this may or may not go well. .... uhh, so, does this mean we gotta wait until DX-31 to get a DX Voltes?? (the numbering so far follows the SOC line, Gx-01/DX-01 Mazinger, Gx-02, DX-02 Great Mazinger, Gx-03, DX-03 Combattler?) Gold

After the new design type for Gx-70 Mazinger, Bandai will be doing a follow up with Great Mazinger and Getter Robo (plus Ankokou Daishogun!?) No official word yet if Daishogun will be an SOC, SHF or just a static PVC figure (base says XXXXXXXXXXXXXX) ... time will tell.. Gold

Here's the combined form, at least the lion legs do become hidden, but the arms look seriously misproportioned. Gold

Finally! We get a look at the upcoming toys from the Netflix series. The toys are done by the same company that makes the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles figures. Here're the "Basic" $9.99 figures. Basic Voltron (non-transforming) Basic Robeast Myzax ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- "Legendary Lion" Class figures -More details and comes with weapons -each lion will have 18 points of articulation (P.O.A.) -Pilot Speeder bikes! Yes!! -Black Lion will have 50 electronic sounds (some sounds exclusive to when Voltron is formed) - Fully combined, Voltron will be 16" Tall!!!!! Each of the Legendary Lions class will cost 17.99, Except for Black, since it has electronics, it will go for $29.99 ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- "Ultimate Voltron" -14" tall -26 P.O.A.s -Does not transform -Features electronics -$39.99 Oddly, for me, the "Ultimate" title doesn't seem to fit the toy, as it supposedly cannot transform, and is shorter than the fully combined form of the "Legendary Lion" version. Go figure. Images courtesy of Nerdiest.com and Toynewsi.com Gold

So here he is, he seems to be a bit smaller than Gx-01/R, but does seem to have more diecast. Yen price is roughly 13,000 Yen. Don't think this is an LED gimmick, more like a flip up "power on" eyes gimmick. Comes with display base Bandai also seemed to figured out a way to make the wings retract without having to sacrifice aesthetics. The release will coincide with the upcoming SHF Devilman.
