i never heard anything negative about the EX-S or the S gundam. lots of praises though about the EX-S... ang ganda raw kasi kapag nakadisplay na. that's what they say... di sya siguro photogenic? hehehe thats right. and personally, i would ALWAYS recommend the ex-s. its just such a monster of a kit so the challenge (of assembling and painting and detailing) is there. if you are after the finished product, I would be hard-pressed to find a more dominating display piece ( in terms of MGs) than the ex-s ( na hindi kit-bashed ha ) on the market today, except maybe the perfect zeong which by sheer height will make you notice it. in my collection, the only thing about as imposing i think is the zeong (char's not the perfect). although with wings fully open, the wing zero (endless waltz) and freedom are pretty hard to miss too. price-wise, kapareho sya ng sazabi. but value for money wise, lugi ka sa sazabi ( acdg. to grfxmn). i never felt na i got less than what i paid for with the ex-s. gimmick-wise, it transforms, has extra armor (vis-a-vis the s), those boosters at the back, has a little core fighter, and both the core fighter and the mech itself have stands. it has a bfg, beam cannons on the back, hip cannons, those reflectors for the beams (forgot what they are called) and twin sabers too. i hated transforming it. never should have in the first place cos mas impressive sya in ms mode. imo. but all in all, sulit na sulit to. got it when it was a few hundred bucks cheaper than it is right now too (from gt rin). sana more katoki designs ng sentinel line come out as MG (kun magka-deep striker na MG, that would take the cake). grabe yun mga fix-fig nya e.

saw the 1/100 hg destiny this morning. 1600 for an hg when i paid roughly the same for the fb & a1 each ( a little bit less & more, respectively) made me reluctant to buy it. pretty cool for an hg though. crappy looking stand though. 1600php? mahal pla... lam ko pag bago release dba dapat mura muna??? like sa red frame, iv'e read d2 na 1,100php sya before sa STC (i think)... but when i bought my red frame it was 1,600php... and the PG strike na 7k+ before, ngyn it's 8k+ na...

its the law of supply and demand. besides, i find the price of 1600 for the 1.100 destiny to be somewhat cheap - considering the number or accessories and gimmicks embedded on the thing. saw the 1/100 hg destiny this morning.

@ genocide - removable with a screwdriver. the booster packs are screwed on to arms that swing out. the arms themselves are screwed on to the stabilizer on the ex-s' back. kind of not worth removing because you risk screwing something up (sorry couldnt help the pun) V2 - korek! with the stand, the weapons and the poseability, not a bad deal nga. as a postscript to my previous post, take into context that my reservations about the price were due to my purchases of MGs for about the same price. hence, my reluctance to purchase an HG for the said amount.

what about old school kits you recommend? i love the rx-79(g) and the ez-8 (although la pa ako ng latter). i love the rx-78 ps2ver w/ added kneeling poseability over ALL kits.

those ground type gundams have a good range of posability and internal detail - the only flaw they have is that they're rather awkward in handling their weapons. the rx-78-2 ps2 version kit is nice as they say.

just remember that the both S and Ex-S are kits to display with, not something to toy around with. so if you remove and reattatch the booster packs, it will induce stress, wear and tear to the connecting area. besides, if you want to play it safe instead, go get the GFF versions. @ genocide - removable with a screwdriver. the booster packs are screwed on to arms that swing out. the arms themselves are screwed on to the stabilizer on the ex-s' back. kind of not worth removing because you risk screwing something up (sorry couldnt help the pun) oh well... bahala na... pwede pa magbago isip ko...

I have all the MG 8th MS team models gotta say that they do feature good possability. The RX 79 (G) has too big of a head though. . . but nice assortment of weapons.

thats as to be expected from old-style HG kits...
the old HG V Gundam kits are fairly good starting with the non-transformable ones (gunEZ, gunblastor, zollidia). the V, V-Dash, V2, V2 Assault and V2 buster are nice kits as well but are prone to breakage. the assault and buster variants of the V2 are fairly good but has balance problems. the V itself looks somewhat too fat while V2 is the best of them all.
as its rather obvious that im a V fan myself, i've always been wishing that they get the MG/HGUC/PG/chogokin/GFF treatment...
STAND UP TO THE VICTORY!!!
