Currently working on the MG Zeta ver. 2. This kit is really something else! Definitely better than the 1st one! The WR mode is awesome! ;D

according to Shunichi Sakurai of mechapinoy.com: Update:
- It seems those new-fangled ball-joint fingers (as seen also on the RX-78 OYW and Gundam MkII ver.2.0) are prone to breakage when you cut the three-finger pieces into individual middle, ring and pinky fingers. I broke the separated middle finger on my model's left hand, and ABS doesn't seem to respond well to plastic cement. Best not to separate them, I guess.

oh... that sounds really bad. there's no kit without their flaws. pero sayang naman kung madali sya masira. its a real innovation for MG kits to have fingers on a regular sized mg kit hand.
btw where exactly did the finger broke off? at the ball joint? middle of the finger?

most likely it breaks at the joint.. ive seen pics of the hand and it seems that the fingers when seperated have very little plastic connecting them to the ball joints.

Then again if you play with ur models then that's a different story. These are models after all and although they can be posed like action figures they were never meant for play.

eventually it seems that the fingers (middle to pinkie) are originally molded as a single part BUT can be separated. that's what shun did. eventually he got this idea from dalong.net: 211.233.38.221/dalong/mg/m86/m86_29.jpg211.233.38.221/dalong/mg/m86/m86_j_arm.jpgabs to abs jointing is a bad thing - especially if it involves small parts ball-jointed with a wide area or articulation). since that the finger parts are still small even at a 1/100 scale, heck it was an accident waiting to happen. it could be possible that unseparating the fingers could avoid this type of breakage (as a whole, the stress could've been distributed and NOT focus on one area to induce stress that would lead to breakage). i've also observed that most hobby magazines (dangeki and hjapan) sepearates the 3 fingers but bandai's own advertisements on the mg zeta 2.0, mk.II 2.0 and RX-78 OYW tend not to separate them. its not a case of "playing" with the kit. its more likely a case of "dont shake the can, or the soda will blow on you". and i personally know the guy, as he is a good modeller and reviewer in my book - and his warning on this incident is something to be appreciated and applied.

do they have issues holding the riffles when you separate the fingers?

Nope! The beam rifle has a slot to connect to the palm so the fingers are just for support. My tip, if you want to separate the fingers, I suggest that you use the Tamiya side cutter, Bandai cutter or any type of cutter that has flat cutting edge. The tips of the Tamiya and Bandai cutters are just right for the job! ;D
