hello all, for the record... 1) i asked 3 questions above. somehow, the for sale got isolated... which was not my intent. hahaha. 2) i was planning of joining not for the for sale but to learn more tips and contribute as well. i noticed there's not much updates on the galleries and reviews kc. 3) in my case, i consider myself a collector so i guess i don't deserve to be a member. pang modelers lang pala dun. kala ko pwede kahit sinu.

Hello fellow Gundamers! Just a few questions. Are you all members of MP (MechaPinoy i suppose)? hows the forum there compared to GT? are there more items for sale there? cheers Good day! Q1. Yes i am a member. Pero not everyone in the GT forum is a member of the MP forum. Q2. It is very hard to compare both forums. Its like comparing an apple to an orange. It really dependson what you are looking for in a forum. Q3. Definitely there are more items for sale here in GT. Aside from GT being a store... ...this forum also caters to a much wider genre. ":)_ To know more about MP you just have to visit the ABOUT US page in their website. From there you would know what kind of culture MP has. ":)_ p.s. its not about being a collector or being a modeler. Its about having fun really. ":)_ peace

1) neither was it ours. however, we don't like the idea of people who just come in to buy, either.
2) because the forum is where it's at. the MP site is still being refined, and we're learning that the forum is the major area, so other parts of the site are being subsumed. it's a learning process. Not to mention the fact that the MP people are very busy with other activities, so we tend to just update on the forum per se.
3) Winn is a collector, but he fully deserves to be a member as he actually paricipates in many threads.

for me, it doesnt matter whether youre a collector or a modeller... as long as you have the love for what you make or collect or both... then the fun comes in for you in spades!

":)_ Then after signing in and di mo nagustuhan eh you could delete your account if you want to. ":)_ Most of the topics in the forums are about mecha anime, manga, general discussion stuff, etc etc... More dominant topics are model kits building. ":)_ IMHO thats the MP forums in a nutshell. my apologies if i sounded quick off the bat, but the buy and sell at MP forums started out as a trading post for spare parts and excess parts - for work with model kits. later on, it evolved such that whole kits were sold (sometimes, a kit may look good only in the animation, etc.). The original spirit of the buy and sell forum is as that - to be able to find parts. sometimes, the stuff sold there are missing unique components, but another person may want only the base kit.
on another thing: standard gundam kits are rarely collectible in the monetary and number-of-kits produced sense. Bandai has a habit of spot-production of all their kits, so if, for example, you have failed to buy an MG that you like, wait about two years, and they will come out with a new run of that kit. However, the real collectibles are the convention-only kits - normally these are metallic-plated or use transparent plastic. At other times, they are add-ons to existing units, or detail-up parts. but standard kits aren't normally collectible. There are rare cases, though, like the HGUC Dendrobium (Orchis + Stamen), which has only had one production run, and due to its price, i guess bandai hasn't seen fit to do another run at this point.
This is the reason why it may not always be a good idea to check out the MP forum buy and sell section if you are a collector. I would rather that you guys go straight to Malvin, as he will assure you of in-box, unassembled, complete and pristine kits.

1. im a member. and some gt members are members of the mp forum as well, although some are not as active as they are here. 2. the forum here and the mp forum is their own similartities and differences respectively. new updates/kits/news/release of gundam-related merchandise are almost at par (i post news that i find at both forums, etc); while most members' works-in-progress, personal ideas on designs/color schemes/etc, general discussions and rant-gripes are more active in mp. to be direct, the gt version is more of fan-based, while the mp version is the same yet more catered to modellers. 3. as for the comparison of FOR SALE areas of both forums, eventually they're virtually the same, although the mp forum caters to items for the modeller's delight (be it on the level of beginner, expert, veteran or snapper - my own self-imposed level). you can get parts of a certain kit that a seller would want do dispose of, or get mechanical/non-mechanical parts for your ab/diorama/design - whatever appeases your cravings to make your kit/work better. the gt forum, caters to a more general specific type of gundam-related merchandise - under a collector's terms (mib/misb/etc). Hello fellow Gundamers! Just a few questions. Are you all members of MP (MechaPinoy i suppose)? hows the forum there compared to GT? are there more items for sale there? cheers 1. apologies for not entertaining the other inquiries. 2. eventually if you want to learn more in the modelling scenario, its a good idea to join. most of our members are actively discussing/inquiring about their works in the forum. im definitely sure you're welcome there. 3. there's no such thing as "not deserving to be a modeller" in MP. using myself as an example: i prefer to collect MSiAs/GFFs/books/figures of gundam-related merchandise. eventually i purchase kits as well but just to entertain myself (if theres no MSiA/GFF version of it) to pass the time but i never managed to paint them (i dont wanna mess up my house with spilled paint, im too lazy, i got other priorities type of excuses). just because i prefer to immerse myself into the "finished goods" category, doesnt hinder me to be active in the mp forums, nor to be a member heck, even i am inspired to conduct research in "painting kits for busy/time-restrained/clean-conscious people". everybody who is interested is welcome in mp: be it a zoider, a transfan, a chogokin collector, a pg collector, a snapper, a sentai/hentai-lord wannabe or anyone who just wants to know more about gundam/kit info. like mechapinoyboy and hym implied, its all about having fun. you're more than welcome to join us, and i personally guarantee you, it will be fun. hello all, for the record...
