Hi guys! I just logged in today and to my surprise...I can't see any pics in the Gt and Ptk boards. All I can se are the dreaded Red X's My laptop seems to be slower too. I sweeped it through Spy Sweeper and AVG and removed all Spyware but it's still slow. I can't even log onto Toy Soldier, Yahoomail, Ebay.com. All it show's are "The page cannot be displayed"" At Bidshot naman, some items have pics, some have red X's. Can somebody give a plausible explanation? Secondly, I'm planning to get SMART WIFI. The current dial up that I'm using goes to a max of 50.6 kbps. I'm planning to get the MART WI_FI with the P988 option 384kbps yata yun. Will my Internet powers go faster? I'm just worried that there will be no change at all in the speed even if I get the 384kbps option because the problem might be my Laptop and not the connection itself. Help! Resident computer wizzards here at GT pls advise!

hmmm i suggest you need a new image hosting photobucket seems to be having some sort of problems lately. I think you need to switch to imageshack for better image hosting.

Have you tried clearing out all of your internet files in the temp folder? Open Internet Explorer, go to tools, then choose "delete files", don't worry this won't damage anything, just free up space by deleting pics and images from websites you've visited. You might want to "delete cookies" too if it still won't let you log in. Cookies are files that help a website remember your password and last visit date, this could messed up and also be the cause of the problem why you can't log in. Deleting the cookie means you have to retype the password again when you visit the site, no other damage. You can also try using Spybot to scan for spyware, there's a free download over at www.windowsmarketplace.com just search for "spybot" All else fails, maybe it's a virus, in which case if an antivirus won't work, then formating the hard drive is the final option. BTW as for Smart Wifi, depends on your location, I use it when I'm in Zambales, it tends to be slow during the day(sometimes as slow as 12 kbps) and then can reach up to 512kbps at night(I'm also using plan 988). This can be attributed to either 1)Multiple people logging on to the tower you're connected to during the day or 2) Heat waves, it's a little known fact that transmission waves are better at night compared to during the day, since at night cold air is much denser and can conduct signals better(which explains why Radio and TV antenna singals are clearer during the nighttime), during the day, intense sunlight/heat can interfere with transmission signals, causing trouble in the frequency(even more so in the summer) 3) Then there's heavy downpour of rains.. this can also jam up signals As for customer service, well, it's a pain in the neck to get some action whenever my system is offline, mainly because I'm in the province, maybe because the sub-contractor is lazy? I dunno about Manila though. So far I'm ok with Smart Wifi, given that it can be faster than Dialup, that, and that I don't have any other choice. But if you have another option like PLDT DSL, just go for the latter if you can afford it, lesser headaches and it can't possibly dip down to 12kbps like Smart wifi on "weird" days. Gold
