Hmm.. They used to tell me that since I hated milk when I was a kid. I dont think it helps at all. You just feel satisfied when you drink milk at night. I guess we could research some facts bout it. ;D

guys question... does drinking warm milk really helps you get to sleep? Okay lets put it this way, anything you intake anytime, not just prior to bedtime, can make you a lil sleepy. It goes this way... We have atleast 5 liters of blood in our system, most of which are pooled in our brain cells as the priority organ since it is our main power switch which makes us alert. When we eat food (any) , priority of the said blood pool shifts from our nervous system (brain and spinal cord) to our digestive system to help it grind, digest and excrete the said food.Hence, most of the blood which are stored in our brain are transported to our stomach living minimal amount of blood in our brain .... this would result in less activeness of our brain cells leading to decrease alertness and end result sleepiness. Now regarding if milk esp. when warm makes any difference?? Yes, it has, since milk contains a lot of heavy cholesterols, fats and cords at that, much much more of the blood is needed to digest it leaving lesser blood in our brain which ultimately results in drowsiness and sleepiness. NOTE: Of course there are factors that affect the said physiology like reading, watching tv, driving and any other activities that needs our neurons to keep on going. In this case, priority of the blood pool still remains in the brain to keep us alert (remember the brain is always the priority of our body). So, drinking warm milk while relaxing (that is freeing our mind of anything) is the best combination ;D

Okay lets put it this way, anything you intake anytime, not just prior to bedtime, can make you a lil sleepy. so that explains why coffee doesn't really affect me much. either that or m just a big time sleepyhead. my friends do accuse me of being likely to sleep most of my life away. thanks for yet another learning experience wingseyemd
