Overpricing?
What made me really annoyed was that SM dept stores decided to up their prices of MSIAs. Back then it was only 750-850 for a regular MSIA. Now its 1k a pop. Wut. >_<
The EMSIA Nu I saw was worth 2k. @_@

If i rememeber it right MSIAs were around 500-750 pesos 3 years ago. local stores were cheaper during those years compare to hobby shops But now its the other way around..
and yeah ur right, the emsia nu is too much for 2k..no wonder nobody buys them

Like Toy Kingdom and Comic Alley? All we can do is to be wise consumers and check around (eg internet) for the suggested retail price of the item. Only time I buy from those is when they offer 50% sale... from Toy Kingdom at least. With CA, you'll have the burden of determining if the merchandise is fake too.

C'mon. Who would buy it at those insane prices? Plus those GFF's never reach yellow price tag status even if they are SO old or were there since the first time I came to that particular Dept. store. ~_~

true. i agree with you guys. but let's just remember that these stores have suppliers/distributors too. it's not the store's fault if their prices are so high.
'paano nga naman sila kikita, kung wala silang patong?'
i even asked this friend of ours in one of our suking tindahan, if we can avail another 10% discount on an item which has a 10% off na. he said, he'll call the supplier. which he did, and asked for another 10% off. which in return, they didn't agree. i guess, these suppliers/distributors will still think for the stores 'kita', that's why they can't agree on another discount. well, unless the box is teared up na.
but still, if we just wait some more time, esp on holidays, these Toy Stores sells it half the original price. which IMHO, is a great bargain na. well, sans the box, of course. ;D

If you dont like the price then dont buy. There are so many alternative ways and shops to do it right?

Sometimes it's not the store's fault. For example, a lot of consigned items are overpriced. Sometimes though it's also the greed of scumbags in customs that forces storekeepers to raise their prices. There's also the rarity factor that leaves some stores with no choice but to buy the stuff no longer from their regular suppliers but from private collectors.

i totally agree... ... ultimately, the decision whether to buy a scalped item lie in the hands of the consumer... ;D Don't feed the scalpers. LOL.

indeed....beware of over pricing....IMO....maybe some retailers need to jack up their prices since the currency of dollar to peso has affected them??? remember most of this toys are imported....

well like i said b4...
there is a local hobbyshop here in cebu who really followed the SRP of TF Classics while some hobbyshops really jack up the prices...
SM and Ayala cebu on the other hand also follow the SRPs of the imported toys...but lacks on the stocks of Transformers...
