guys i need help in shooting my toys using only my simple 5 megapixels Olympus digicam..
what can i use (simple things and affordable things) for the background, lighting, etc.?

You could try this setup from dalong.net : dalong.net/review/sp.htmFor me I use a simple black cartolina for the background and prefer outdoor lighting. Having a tripod helps if you plan to shoot indoors.

Or you can just buy 5 illustration board to make a box out of it. You could use the white portion as a simple white background and put up two white studio type lampshade outside pointing on the inside portion of the box to eliminate shadows when you are gonna use some flash on the indoor shoot. .... well that box will work on any figures that stands on 1/144 or 1/100 not on a 1/60 scale thing cause there huge hehehe ...... Or you could use any simple plain background that suits your eyes for taking pictures of it .... Your 5 megapixel cam is good enough for shooting crisp pictures mine was only an old 3.2 megapixel digi cam Hope this helps ....

ei man, here is my economy mini studio: materialswhite cartolina = P6.00 lamp shade = P100.00 each (at divisoria) camera = 3.1 Megapixel Kodak c6330 (also economy) some of my pictorials ptk.14.forumer.com/viewtopic.php?t=638

i just bought recently a black felt paper..im trying to experiment using that as my background..i will try also buying some illus. boards and cartolinas

oh yeah, dont depend on the AUTO setting of your cam. its best to set it to manual and tinker with the settings.
in short, be explorative!
