Besides my Gundam kits, I also have tanks and fighter aircraft kits. I've already assembled and finished a F-14 Tomcat, I forgot the scale, but it's a big one. Two 1/72 fighter planes, 1 1/72 M-1 Abrams, tapos one Chinese motorized tank. Naka line-up pa tong mga to;
a.1/72 Sd.Kfz.171 Panther G tank (Dragon Kit) b.1/72 Sd.Kfz.182 King Tigher Henschel Turret tank(Dragon Kit) c. 1/72 F117a Lockheed Stealth Fighter (Tamiya Kit) d. 1/72 Ka-52 Alligator Russian Attack Helicopter (Italeri kit) f. 1/24 Opel Astra V8 Coupe (Tamiya Kit)
Whenever I feel like taking a break from Gundam Kit Building, I start on one of this. ;D

way back in the 80s (i was in high school then), i assembled plastic models of the USS Wasp and PT 109, the WW2 PT boat commanded by then Lt. (jg) John Kennedy. I also assembled an F-4 Phantom. I really liked it; i painted it woodland pattern camouflage . I also had an AH-64 Apache pero di ko na in-assemble. tinamad na ako kasi problema sa storage. eventually nasira yung mga models . one needs lots of glass cases to store them for display. my personal favorites (aside from the F-4) are the Vietnam-era US planes like the Corsair, A-4 Skyhawk, A-6 Intruder and F-8 Crusader (the Phil Air Force phased out its Crusaders several years ago). among the newer ones (relatively speaking, hehe, considering there are more newer ones), i like the F-14 Tomcat, F-15 Eagle and F-16 Fighting Falcon. I don't like the F/A-18 Hornet, it looks too short, especially with those twin vertical fins . maganda rin yung Mig-29/Mig-31 Fulcrum and Su-27 Flanker, very aerodynamic.

Maybe this thread should not be in the American toys forum. Tamiya is a Japanese brand. Unless of course the discussion is limited model kits from non-Japanese manufacturers.

This is probably best addressed by Archaznable, the thread starter. If the thread needs to be moved, just let any mod know. Cheers, Garvy

Maybe this thread should not be in the American toys forum. Tamiya is a Japanese brand. Unless of course the discussion is limited model kits from non-Japanese manufacturers. Althou Tamiya was a Japanese name and brand but all of (but not all) the modelling content and concept was an all american or european model kits like aircraft, tanks, planes ranging from different era's or centuries like World War I, II, and the present day armaments. They all resembles to american or european armaments that is why i put it in here. well maybe that is one of my point.

Let's revive this thread again.
I used to collect military plastic model kits way back in my elementary and high school days, but because of studies, gimiks and girls, tinamad na ako.
What i got was German Leopard Medium Tank, US Light Tank M5A1, A-10 Warthog, F-14 Tomcat, F/A-18 Hornet and B-25 Mitchell, with brand name like Tamiya, Revell and another american brand i forgot, i also got military books for them like Jane's, etc. Unfortunately i lost them all including the books.

I too delved into Tamiya and still am looking... I started with a Monogram plane and USS Missouri ship when I was in grade school, then came Tamiya and Academy.
I usually buy Academy because it was cheaper, so I got started with 1/72 then moved to 1/48, and wanted to delve into the 1/32 kits. Then I got into Gundam.
I had 1/48 F-14, F4U Corsair, Zero (untouched) and 1/35 Abrams, Jeep and some IDF tank.
Last year I almost bought the Academy kit to make it a movie accurate Black Out, but seriously it would have been really painstakingly expensive just to make it transformable. I've already worked out converting Binaltech Tracks/Ravage for B... I only need to find either of the 2 for kitbashing he he he... ;D

I mostly build 1/12 scale Moto GP bikes by Tamiya. last summer I built a 1/35 Panzer I think its still in the 'kits' thread. Summer is almost here (well spring palang dito) i'll prolly build my unbuilt collection of bikes.
