Wow. Where to begin?
Dude, before we go any further, maybe I should check with you on one of our premises. With regard to my first post, you do realize I was poking fun at Mctoys, right? I wasn't really claiming that those semi-articulated figures of theirs are actual statues, right? Kaya nga I never said that they are statues. I said they "may as well be statues."
Oh, and I never said you questioned my "level of knowledge with respect to pop culture-themed collectible statues," but something must have spurred you to make the following comment:
(again for your sake, that are made of polyresin and the like -- see www.statueforum.com and toykolektorph.proboards38.com" and that DC Direct already is going full blast with statues made of stone... see www.dcdirect.com/dcdirect for their monthly release of statues made of stone...
Like I said before, you needn't go to all the trouble of doing this "for my sake," man. I'm good! Really!
Second, yes, McF has brought toys to a whole new level... they redefined what toys ought to be... with or without articulation, they have created plastic masterpieces... i'm there with you...check out my first post
... action figures... thats different altogether... McFarlane should take the lead...
I only meant in my first post that...
which you helped strengthen by pointing out the miracleman statue...
... we made a distinction between stone and plastic... just like what i said above, McF is great with plastics ... but not with stone...
Granted, you clarified your point in subsequent posts. However, I felt that your original post, which stated that:
I dont think McFarlane has any experience in creating statues.
merited clarification. Mctoys DOES have experience making statues. That was MY point. However, just like most things in life, its not guaranteed that you're going to like what they produce.
regarding this...
being a marketing person, i would like to infuse some comments on these things... but let's just reserve this for another time... probably, if and when time permits. I promise you that we will continue this another time... perhaps when we see each other... ;D
but to make things clear... i gave an opinion (see my first post)... that's it...
... do you think my "opinion" is "wrong"?
Not at all, friend! Opinions can never be wrong, di ba? Just different.
Perhaps its just the...delivery of the opinions which will spark exchanges such as this. ;D
