What the... it took them this long to roll out a modified version of the vintage popy?
Still.. at least the diecast looks good, but I'll hold off buying until I read the reviews...
Wait, so they didn't go through with the plan to release them as 3 boxsets?
Nice pics though.

It looks too "plastic" for me. I don't know why but I'm not so impress with this. I wonder how the articulation is...

Hmm just checked ebay and the going rate for the MPC Voltron is around 130-150$
Not bad, but I'm not entirely sold on it's diecast content.. or its durability for that matter. Toynami is infamous for it's cruddy joints and plastic on the MPC Robotech toys. Hopefully this baby will be different

According to toysdaily review the diecast content of the MPC Voltron is a WHOOPING 85-90%!!! The only negatives are that the toy seems to have delicate joints. I'm not exactly sure how delicate though. and the only accessory is the Blazing sword. Oh, and this baby is still limited to 15,000 units produced. Gold

lets hope that the joints are not too delicate that it breaks easy. but the toy does look nice. doesn't each lion come with their own accessory?

I seem to have seen a spiked shield somewhere....or was it my imagination...? Oh yeah, check the pics in ToysDaily....there's a shield...hm...it seems to be only the sword and the shield. Bummer.

Some more additional info on Voltron. It now has been split into 2 book-case style box packaging(something similar to TF Collection Reissue #5 Megatron) 1)Black, Green and Red Lions + Shield 2) Blue and Yellow Lions +Blazing sword Diecast content is exacly the same as the Popy/Godaikin/Taiwan bootlegs. Oh and instead of the original 15,000 units, it's been lowered to 5,000 units produced to " Test the water" .. I guess the other 10,000 units will be made only if these first 5,000 sell well. Still no word on Joints durabilty though. Greattoys has na.. Wheee. Price within 10,000 more or less daw Gold

Here's a pic posted by Bizzio over at RobotJapan proboards.. looks big next to Dancouga. Diecast content aint bad either. It's the plastic parts that I have issues with, at least based on looking at in "in packaging". Maybe when I get mine and combine it, it'll grow on me.

Hi, I'm new to the boards. I'll be heading to HK this coming thursday and was wondering how much this is going for in HK? Is it cheaper to buy it in the US or HK?
