Thanks Mazingaa, but no luck, I haven't been able to find any .wav, mp3 or ac3 files. I'm convinced the audio is in the same file as the mpeg, I just cant' seem to bring it out, not sure if it's due to ps2 and PCs running on different audio channels kaya ganun. Also tried de-multiplex, didn't get anything either. hehe.. it's been driving me crazy all day.. so close yet so far.. Gold

don't know if the BGM files from a PS2 Game is the same with Movie/Video Clips, but here's some link that I found from the net on how to extract your PS2 audio files and they have succeeded in converting it into .wav or mp3 files. www.megagames.com/ps2/ps2_utils_graphics.shtmlwww.megagames.com/ps2/ps2_guides_files.shtmlwww.megagames.com/ps2/ps2_utils_audio.shtmlif you can playback the video clips from your PC, you can record their sounds since most audio/sound card support full-duplex! but not sure about the quality though. Me, Grimlock! running out of ideas.... me give up!!! ;D If I only have a PS2 Game Console, maybe I might get an idea on how to rip the video. heheheh

I found these links while toying around with Mazingaa's links. www.animemusicvideos.org/phpBB/viewtopic.php?t=28242www.animemusicvideos.org/phpBB/viewtopic.php?t=29514It looks like I was searching with the wrong words, i should've been looking for "pss rips" instead of playstation cinemas... I'll try these tomorrow.. I've had way too long a day of trial and error before discovering this step by step guide. Thanks Again Mazingaa!!! You Rock!! Gold

Ok, tried fooling around with the Isobuster program and I was able to extract the CGI intro of Super Robot Wars Alpha 3(extract PSS file with isobuster and save as .mpg) The Problem is the sound seems to be on another file, so what I got is essentially video but no audio... d**n.. Gold Oh I see. So the content of a PS2 game disc had a .PSS or .FMV file format, which they uses for their video clips or cinematic opening/intro movies. huwaw! galeng galeng naman! thanks for giving me an idea about .PSS files.

No, thank you Mazingaa, it was your links that gave me the idea to hunt down "PSS" titled threads . Thanks. BTW if you want to rip PS1 cinemas here's a link to the software, it's supposedly easy to do(haven't tried it yet). homepage2.nifty.com/~mkb/PsxMC/download.html#PsxMCIt's a Jap site, Just look for the "PSXMC323zip" in pink boarder(middle rightside of the whole page) to download the zipfile. pahingi lang ng tulong... anyone here knows where i can download mp3 ng opening theme ng new gaiking series? thanks! Bricua, I think you can try to rip out the audio if you have a copy of the tv series on vcd or download... try www.videohelp.com for tips on how BTW, I've been trying to get the FMVs from Ps2 games for the last few hours.. so far the guide isn't 100% foolproof..... turns out that the ability to "rip out" the cinemas from ps2 games varies on a game to game basis. Essentially it's trial and error. So far I've tried with Super Robot Wars Alpha 3.. I was able to extract and convert the video to MPEG(using a "self-invented" guide, but the mpg file came out at 426MB) but it won't run on a DVD player(weird but it's M2V/MPEG-2, so Windows Media player only). ALso tried converting it to AVI, ended up with a 2.6GB avi file.. weird.. Also tried it with Namco vs. Capcom.. couldn't get past the "Extractor step"(program just hangs halfway through the extraction.. another thing, supposedly, the "FMV" from the Metal gear Solid 2 and 3 games aren't "rip-pable" daw.. since most of the cutscenes are graphics from the game itself with dialogue(not 100% sure on this..) On a good note, it seems the links to www.animemusicvideos.com posted above also have a guide to extracting cinemas from Final Fantasy X and X-2.. so far those seem to work out alright(according to the posters who tried it) BTW, forgot to mention that the PSXMC(the software for ripping PS1 cinemas) is pretty good from what I've read so far.. just remember to look for ".STR" files instead of .MPG Sigh... hopefully down the line someone will make a "PS2 ripper all in one" software like the PSXMC.... for now this guide is not yet foolproof.. sorry to get your hopes up folks.. Thanks again Mazingaa, I'll try the tips when I have free time, I didn't know the part about the "Vcd compliant thing" and what type of codec should I set avi to? I used DVD2Avi, since when I'm using SimpleDIVX, the m2v file won't register in the "input" screen. BTW I have been able to extract cinemas and play them on the PC using isobuster and PSS_player(for games that are just too long or uninteresting to finish hehe.. me=lazy bum ) . 1) search for and download isobuster and pss_player on Yahoo 2) use isobuster to manually extract files one by one that are 60mb and above(usually files with extension of .bin or .pss or .sdf or swf or .dat3) retype the filename extension before you save as .pss file extension(eg. "movie.pss") 4)when done, open pss_player and then drag and drop the created .pss file into the pss_player window. if the file is a movie, itll play, if not it'll say "not a pss file" mostly it's trial and error but it works if you find the correct file Gold

I used DivX Codec for encoding some compressed .avi files, but you can try others din... kung may option or selection on what type to use as for your video compression, and if you have DivX installed from your PC! you can try that option. this two are very useful to me, eto rin madalas kong gamitin na appz. it can open most .m2v files too! www.tmpg-inc.com- can also convert, multiplex, de-multiplex, merge & cut, do batch encode, output file to a different format and may more... I prefer using virtualdubmod than virtualdub. www.virtualdub.orgvirtualdubmod.sourceforge.net- it can also open .MKV files BTW, great tips! sa mga PS2 conversion.
