Hi all, I thought I'd start a fresh thread regarding Bandai's new Soul of Chogokin spin-off line, The SOC Spec. So far the confirmed units in the line are the Neon Genesis Evangelion EVA-01 Test unit and the SPT Layzner. Please click for bigger images. The extent of the diecast content of the toys have yet to be confirmed. Although the price for the EVA-01 will be roughly 6400Yen and will be headed for a Dec 2006 release. For more info on the series SPT(Super Power Tracer) Layzner go here: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/LayznerThanks to Bizzio and Toysdaily for the pics Gold

I'm not sure if this is Bandai's answer to Kaiyodo's Revoltech, usually armored toy stuff is really posey when there're no armor attachements involved, then it loses some of it's poseability when you snap on the armor. The price sure isn't as friendly as Revoltech that's for sure(roughly 2700 PhP per piece) So far only the two "Real Robots" types have been announced. Gold

thats true, as bandai attempted it on their "advanced msia" line.
the internal details is impressive and such, but all hell breaks loose when you snap the armors on.
ugh. if an eva-00 blue comes out, it'll be a bind on which to get.
how big would these be?

SOC Spec line?....probably just an addition for GX series...i think bandai is doing so marketing strats to pull of more mechs for the original SOC line...looks like they're running out of ideas for the next mecha to be released...

New info on the SOC Spec EVA, please click to view larger image: According to the text, the EVA-01 unit will stand at 18 CM tall, roughly a little over 7 inches, making it a bit taller than the original SOC. It says it will have diecast parts but as far as the amount goes, I'm not sure, maybe just the chest plate? Thanks to Bizzio of RobotJapan for the images Gold

Does anyone know what the numbering system will be on the SOC Spec line? I'm not completely sure but I think it might be under the GE series. I've checked around Angolz and Bigbadtoystore and their preorder images all show the "Chogokin" logo instead of "Chogokin Soul" . I could be wrong though Gold

More pics of the Soul Spec Layzner(thanks to MannyD over at RobotJapan boards) According to Amenbo it will stand roughly only 5.5 Inches tall and will have an electronic display base with sound effects all for the price of 8000Yen. Kinda pricey IMHO. Gold
