Has anyone here tried to buy and playtest one of the bootleg transformers alternators? I found a good haul of them at the toy section of Landmark. They cost something like P750 approx. Here are (hopefully) some pics from a cellphone cam:

Yup, I did. Want a review? Anyways, in a gist the toys is a good quality bootleg. I would also like to point out that this is NOT an Alternator Bootleg... This is a BINALTECH bootleg, the car parts are die-cast. All parts of its original BINALTECH toy is faithfully reproduced, only the insigna and other Transformers Trademark are changed. I would like to point out that these toys are quite unable to hold poses since the heavy die-cast material plus the not so stiff joints often keeps the toy unbalanced. However, if you only want to make the toy stand or if you wish to keep it in car mode then this is one good display piece to have. Estimated this bootleg cost 1/3 than the original. And only 1/2 compared to an Alternator.

Wow, thanks for that! I guess this will make a good display piece on an office desk to say the least. Binaltech bootleg to boot

Guys, just make sure you check the toy carefully. It is a bootleg...it may have broken parts (that were superglued).

hehehe buti nga kung na-superglue. It's not unheard off that you get a bootleg that has broken parts that rattle around the container. I wonder how far they'll go with these binaltech bootlegs?

Oh yeah, when Protoform said they were super-glued what he meant was JOINTS were SUPER-GLUED. The supposed to be movable parts were connected via super-glue. You should check the item first before buying it. As for how far, according to the box they will be releasing Lambor (sideswipe), Hound, Smokescreen and Silverstreak. As of now, I have not yet seen any of the Impreza molds (Smokescreen and Silverstreak).

Also note that some of the parts are mis-assembled. Most notorious of these are the Viper molds(Red and Yellow Lambor) and what's painful is that it's the riveted parts are the ones that are misplaced or stuck with wrong parts. But these are only noticable in bot mode. Also they've tried to skirt around copyright issues on labels such as "Jee " on the Jeep logo on Hound(nevermind that the mold on the logo itself was unchanged. A good artist can complete the logo.)

Malvs once showed me the Yellow Sideswipe, from the looks of it, it's 70/30 chance of getting a toy with the wrong left/right shoulders..
It doesn't affect the transform, but it will fix the shoulders in place and limit articulation(because of a "bar" in the toy mold). It's kinda hard to explain without photos.
There doesn't seem to be any "wrong parts" problem with the Wranglers though.

The Viper molds do have problems. And I clearly understand what Gold was talking about since I got all molds. The Jeeps are better only problems are with Swindle because the head is wrong (they used the same head as Hound) and the tires are smaller than it should be (Original Swindle has bigger tires). In any case they're great for kitbashing/customs ;D
