Interesting, I didn't know Takara still has the rights to the mold. I thought the Laserwave gun/toy was up there with Jetfire and Omega Supreme as impossible reissues...
Can anyone clarify this?

As i check with my coleages at the other us/uk TF boards, yes it may be possible... But, it could not be possible. Since, we all know that the name alone was copyrighted.... And the toy itself was owned ( Correct me if i wrong..) By a hongkong toy manufactorer. Unless they got the toyrights... Well we may very well see shockblast. But like Omega ( toybox) and Jetfire, (bandai) we may not see a re-issue shockwave/shockblast.

shockblast? that was also the name of the one from tf energon. Actually, Shockblast is the g1 jap name of shockwave, in japan. Since a toy in hongkong has copyrighted both te original toy and the namesake, so hasbro just uses the takara name instead... Like what they did to Meister ( Jazz) Since both g1 mentioned are still the same, only had use their japanesse names... ( and also for the fact that, both names mentioned are copyrighted by other groups.) so to speak.

afaik, shockwave was never called shockblast in american OR japanese G1. i think you're thinking of the name Laserwave.
and the trademark for the name was recently re-acquired and slapped onto a Minicon [an easy way to keep using the name and thus protect their current ownership of the trademark], but no evidence even hinting at their ownership of the mold has surfaced in all this time.

( Unless te make a BT Honda "jazz" ) As for shockwave, Im not sure if it's radioshack who holds the toy since radioshack has a toy, they releases before then i think.
