Don's mentioned that he/they wanted to use the Luger design, but obviously a real-life gun design for Megs wouldn't work out so he had to come up with this. i kind of wish it'd been released in the main line as it might have looked better if the budget had been shifted to more engineering and better joints etc instead of the diecast.
