Toy Fair 06: new Cyb, TF MOVIE, TF CLASSIC toys

first, a newsbit on the TF Movie toys and TF Classic figure lineup from Nevermore.

The TF Movie Toy

Hasbro will be re-releasing 20th Anniversary Prime for the 20th Anniversary of the original TF movie. It is said to have "movie related accessories with a new movie deco." Now, this could be just a straight re-release, but my guess would be they give us either the Takara non-battle damaged version or a complete new redeco. Could we get a white Prime for when he dies? Or will it be Magnus? I think my first guess is the most probably. What about the new parts? My honest guess is that we won't get anything new except maybe a copy of the movie. Honestly, what else could they put in from the movie? It's slated to be released in October

I checked up on this one with my buddy Chris, who works at TRU, and he said they have a new SKN for a 20th anniversary Prime (not the old Prime) in their computers.

The TF Classic Line:

Grimlock

All of these are set to be released in October except for Grimlock, Astrotrain, and the 2 TBDs, which are set for February.

Megs and Jetfire are set for October and Prime and Soundwave for Feb

Haaay salamat. A new 20th Anniversary Prime. Hope it is exactly like MP Convoy and not the Hasbro version with short smokestacks and weathering. I may finally get one.

i'm just happy it might be reissued. i couldn't care less about the stacks and weathering - as unnoticeable as it is - myself. but that's just me.

yes. there's a double-wave reissue set [Cheetor, Waspinator, Rhinox, Dinobot, TM Rattrap, Predacon Tarantulus, BAF Trans-Mutate] and the two beast leaders, who are both 'ultimized' reinterpretations including design influences from their beast incarnations [think of it this way: BWX Primal is to Optimus Primal what Laser Rod Prime is to Optimus Prime]. although i will grant that the arm articulation is a little odd to me too... the robot mode face, however, is just so dead-on.

hmm i wonder what wil this prime ewill look like. when will this be out exactly? i bet it will be out along with the 2007 movie. no supprise if so

you'd win that bet, likely... that's what the original report mentioned it'd be in conjunction with, i think. makes perfect sense to me. ;D not sure what they can do to improve it even further [they can't exactly give people the long stacks they want since it's still going to be marketed as a children's toy]... everything's pretty much dead-on. maybe it'll just be a straight reissue... wouldn't complain.

gonna be a lot of Primes to look forward to, what with all these incarnations coming out... TF Classics [G1 redux] where he supposedly has Deluxe and Voyager [with trailer] size versions, this 20thOP reissue, and the movie toyline version if they're still making a new one [probably will be].
