Hi guys!
Why is TF Collection Soundblaster cheaper than Soundwave?
They look the same to me...
Can somebody please enlighten me?
Thanks!

This is just my personal opinion...
When they first released Soundwave, it was the first cassette player mold to be re-issued hence there was a bigger expectation and pre-orders. Factor in a rumor that it was only 1 production run, so "limited" pieces were pre-sold quickly.
While Soundblaster is just the same, per se, as Soundwave, those who already have Soundwave saw no justification to get another one unless you are a completist.
Also, if my childhood memories are correct, I remember Soundwave than Soundblaster in the cartoons...
Again, that's just my personal opinion...

Soundwave is cooler, although they're essentially the same character. Soundblaster only came out in the Japanese TFG1 series(after the Headmasters saga, where the US show ended, Japan continued to air) and in the mangas.
Blaster(or was he already Twincast by then..? I forgot) had a showdown with him, the had a fist fight, Blaster punched right through Soundwave and he blew apart, Ratbat salvaged his head, and later Galvatron made a new body for him as Soundblaster.
...I know this sounds cool and all but it was really drawn pretty bad(just like the last season of the TFG1 series, misproportioned body parts, clunky animation) and the production values were just downright low.. better read then watched..

Soundblaster is a (slight) remold of Soundwave. He can contain 2 Decepticon cassettes...unlike Soundwave. Color is a bit darker too.
The original is definitely more expensive than the remold...due to the sheer popularity of the character. However, take note that after Takara released the TF Collection Soundblaster...the price of the original one dropped significantly.

o add to this, in the US soundblaster never distribute there... like stepperm they are known in the us as the $1000 dollar toys.. ( mentioned by sum US collectors and Seibertron.) unlike here, we base on the popularity of the character + raredality, not by just how rare they are. ( with sum excepmtions.) also, there are difference when western collection and easterm collectors are concern...

I read that the collection series soundwave mold is just the same with soundblaster (color and the tape compartment are the only different. Correct me if I am wrong). The original soundwave mold was already destroyed.

Owning an original Soundwave as compared to the Soundblaster, I can tell that there were some slight changes in the face mold. Minute but you can tell by the sculpt. Not to mention that the re-issue Soundwave's "buttons" are that of the Soundblaster mold.

Ren is right. I think the TF Collection Soundwave is based on the Soundblaster mold.
If you can't get the TF Collection Soundwave, then Soundblaster is a good substitute. Whichever suits your budget ;D

The Soundwave reissue is much rarer these days, and the fact that it is the original version which people will recognize more allows it to have greater demand. Thank goodness I got it before they started to become super rare.
