they were small for Mirage too. the KP manga [or some other art source] has shown Hot Rodimus holding them like tonfas too, which isn't too bad.
but meh, with his fishing-rod-pipe-guns-for-one-arm [is that called a "Hot Rod" too? snerk] and those flaming-yellow fists/forearms he doesn't really need guns so much... he could just focus on near/close-range combat. and knowing Roddy, that's probably what he'd end up doing anyway, heh heh.
