Hi guys i'm totally a noob here. i haven't seen the anime but i wan't to start collecting and i've got tons of noob questions.. to start: 1. Is 1/60 better than 1/48? reading the previous post, i got an impression that other like the 1/60 scale more.. which one is more accurate/detailed? 2. Is the VF-1S that Roy Focker pilot the most famous character in the movie/toyline? 3. How much is the SRP in php when they are first released here a. 1/48 VF-1S Roy Focker b. 25th anniversary 1/48 VF-1S c. 1/48 VF-1S Roy Focker w/ weathering >>> is this already out? 4. What does TBD means?
Hope someone would answer my questions.. thanks
sorry if i'm OT here

1. Is 1/60 better than 1/48? reading the previous post, i got an impression that other like the 1/60 scale more.. which one is more accurate/detailed? there are 2 Yamato 1/60's here; the first line was issued starting in 2001 and completed its run in 2004. it had lots of die-cast metal parts, and a transformation that was accurate to the anime and Kawamori lineart designs and involved detaching the legs completely. at the time of their release they had an SRP of about P3,500 or so, when GT came into being. (prior to that we had to put up with an outrageous P5,000 price range) people who were used to the Takatoku/Bandai design complaied that they wanted a transformation that did not require detaching the legs. even though it's not anime-accurate, this was done with the 1/48's that began in 2003, and continues to see repaints to the present. in terms of detail, the 1/48 is of course more detailed since it's larger. this year, Yamato is coming up with a new 1/60 line that has a transformation mechanism similar to the 1/48's, and some design refinements. think of it as a miniaturized and updated 1/48; the level of detail is not yet clear, other than what you can see in the publicity photos and commercial released. it's probably going to be all-plastic like the 1/48. 2. Is the VF-1S that Roy Focker pilot the most famous character in the movie/toyline? maybe; the yellow-striped Skull leader VF-1S survived the entire Macross series (having been piloted by Roy Focker and later Hikaru Ichijo), and for some reason any VF-1 line always starts with it. 3. How much is the SRP in php when they are first released here a. 1/48 VF-1S Roy Focker b. 25th anniversary 1/48 VF-1S c. 1/48 VF-1S Roy Focker w/ weathering >>> is this already out? a. 1/48 VF-1S - hmm, i think around PhP6,800 when first introduced 4 years ago b. 25th Anniv - check with Marlene at GT c. 1/48 VF-1S w/ weathering - this is not yet out, but there were special Wonderfest items that were sold at the convention; some were bought on ebay for as much as $400... probably not a wise decision for whoever that was To Be Determined For more info and pictures, just go to www.macrossworld.com -- if you register in the forum, don't mind all the rabid fanboys that infest the place, it's often like being in a schoolbus of little girls mooning and fighting over their teen idols, and many discussions are downright absurd.
