It would be great if someone posts a review between the takara and hasbro version...i used to think that japanese versions are more superior to their american counterparts... however, tf energon proved me wrong... energon gestalts are much better than their jap version... the larger galvatron, personally, is better than the smaller superlink ver. likewise, i prefer cybertron's supreme starscream than the smaller GC counterpart... why is the Galaxy Force/Cybertron Starscream so much bigger than this Optimus Prime?
i notice that this Starscream looks more like the Skyfire design from the original RID series, even the way it transforms...

You'll know if you get to watch the series ;D. And GF/Cybertron toys differences are just in the paint jobs. There is very little die cast content in the GF/Cybertron lineup...except for the THS Hybrid Style Galaxy Convoy.

as far as i can recall, neither Takara's nor Hasbro's GF/Cyb Optimus Prime has any diecast parts.
- last "diecast is usually almost never present in mainline toys" maximal

In the old site, I posted my own review of Convoy. As noted by the other experts, there are indeed some paint job difference between the US and JP versions. JP Convoy's knees and planet key has a silver and gold paint repectively as opposed to the US version.
There are (subjective?) difference in the plastic 'cause I own the JP version......, it has more finer quality..............painting too is a bit more neat. And the box art....heavenly.
And no, there are no diecast parts in the deluxe version.
(To Protoform.......why is Starscream supersized anyway? Please?)
