Got me a Hayate Liger just this afternoon. Its a nice retool of Murasame Liger. With a new gimmick and then some.
Being a retool, it has the basic, prebuilt body of Murasame. Sprue colors are white, dark brown, gold, silver and red **bright red actually, your eyes will hurt if you look at it constantly... actually, your eyes will hurt if you look at anything constantly... anyways**
Building Hayate is a bit more time consuming than building a Murasame. Some parts are way too close to the sprue itself to get some needed clearance for a good cut. Also, Hayate has more sprues **if i remember it correctly** than Murasame.
But one thing i like about Hayate is that it kinda solve some of the problems with Murasame. The armors actually locks into place. Like the armor in the legs, after aligning it, give it a bit more manly push and it "clicks". It locks itself into position **either that or i'm breaking plastics**.
If Murasame has a spring loaded switch knife, Hayate has a spring loaded booster and blade action courtesy of the prebuilt back pack unit. Speaking of the back pack. I dont know why but the Hayate box cover has a brown back pack, i got me a white... whats up with that?.
Looking at each of the leg armors, you'll notice 3 spikes of some sort that you can push in or pull out of the leg armor. very interesting. I once thought the white on the lower leg armors are stickers as with Murasame. But to my suprise, its white plastic you attach to the red ones... definitely a big plus.
The Good
- Nice color
- Lots of blades
- Less white stickers
The Bad
- Mid-body armor (where the circle rails for the sword are located) is very loose.
- I never like the canopy set up.
- Dont like how the tail is attached.
The Neutral
- Its a Liger
- prebuilt (pros/cons, so break even)
Thanks for viewing.
