It's just a matter of how much you love doing something... like me I've been doing it (drawing the SRs) since grade school. hence every detail of almost all the super robots are imprinted in my mind ;D One more here....... and another one.....

And I thought they were just modded pics. Original artwork pala! Galeng!
As a 70s SR fanboy myself, I can attest to the difficulty of getting the detail of SRs in drawings. You see, nuong panahong iyon, wala pang VCR (kahit betamax, 80s na dumami)... anyway, para makuha mo yung detalye, you would really have to observe the cartoons are they were shown on TV and commit to memory the details of the superrobots.
4 in front, 3 on each side?
Looking forward bro'!

thanks mucodono thanks ennui, actually pareho pala tayo ng pinagkakakitaan nuong bata bata pa tayo, hehehe..... ;D though during those times I only used pencil, ballpen, techpen, colored pencil, craypas and yes..... charcoal. Medyo low tech but I loved doing my artworks way back then using those mediums cause I can really give the details more accurately unlike using MS paintbrush where there are several limitations as to curves and shadings. But it's really self fulfilling ones a subject's finished using the computer as your brush. Sorry po for the flaws, No formal training in computers, just learned a bit by kutingting kutingting, butingting and a lil kalikuting. ;D I would really like to learn corel coz I can see the beautiful artworks that can be done using it but honestly speaking... for someone like me who don't have any training or whatsoever with a basic pc... looks very difficult to learn it and I think I don't have the talent to catch up with even the basics of the said program. Now, regarding the numbers of the exhaust panels on mazinger z's mandibular area... during the 70's when am observing the tv series... it's consistent... 4 in front and 3 per side, BUT in the newer movie releases esp. the OVAs, there were times it's 3 infront and 3 per side, and sometimes 4 infront and 3 per side. Probably, the artists depended the panel numbers as to how many can be squeezed on the space on mazinger's mandible they were able to draw. Here's a MS paintbrush version of my Jeeg... this one's recently made lang and I over exaggerated his muscles, wala lang nagtrip lang ;D

'Langhiya, pati Jeeg, nakuha mo.
Paki-blow-up mo nga ung Balatak.

Thanks bro.... I know I also have flaws in my artworks but am quite happy with them, afterall it's like customizing them.. The only times I can see the elbow pivot of voltes v are during the time they are volting in (when the bomber is about to attach to the panzer ) and when he's about to use the laser sword.. perhaps there are other times that it's seen but my memories quite fading or probably am not too observant regarding it.... ;D Yeah, it's the Star Rangers... much much way ahead of all the other sentai, wait a minute I think I have an artwork of them. I'll try looking for them ones am back in Manila.... in the meantime, here's my version of baratak..........
