The Victim! heheheh...
Tools and Materials:- Plastic Wrap/Bag
- Metal/Steel Ruler
- Soldering Iron
- Scissor
- Soldering Holder (optional)
- Tape Measure (optional)
- Mirror, Glass or any solid flat surface (this will serve as a cutting board/mat)
Mirror Frame - This will serve our cutting board/mat for this project.
Two Soldering Iron - One for Demo and the other one is for actual use.
Plastic Wrap/Bag (cellophane type) - with resealable flap cover similar to CD/DVD packaging plastic cover.
Measuring (Option A) - measure the size and dimension of the toy box.
Measuring (Option B) - for lazyboy like me, put the toy box inside the plastic and make a guide mark by pinching the excess plastic part like the ones shown below.
Once you have your imaginary guideline is set. Place the metal/steel ruler as your guide for cutting away the excess plastic part. The heat from the soldering iron will serve as our sealer to the plastic.
after the excess plastic part has been cut and removed. Place the toy box inside the plastic again and see if it fits perfectly... if it's still a bit loose make the necessary adjustment and trim away some excess part.
Now, if everythings OK! cut the middle or center part side of the plastic with your scissor and before it reaches the box cut it down diagonally... (45 degree angle)
after you finished cutting both sides! Place the box in an "L" type position (flap cover facing down) use again your metal/steel ruler as a guide and soldering iron for cutting or trimming the excess plastic part.
Do the same method on the other side of the box.
notice the excess plastic triangular shape flaps?Flip the box upside down and use the same method again for cutting away the excess plastic part.
Here's what it looks like when the triangular flaps been cut away or removed. Do the same on the other side.
By any chance, you didn't make a perfect nice seal/cut or there's still a small unwanted excess part of the plastic?! Here's what you'll do... Place the two small metal ruler together as tight as possible or make the two steel ruler join really close together! like the photos shown below and trim it by reheating with the use of a soldering iron.
TADA! looks very nice and neat to me. ;D
Were almost there... guyz! one more steps and were done from this crazy project.
Close down the box. (front cover facing down) then trim away the remaining excess plastic part.
Open and Close flap covers. A nice way to seal your TF booktype box with the option of still seeing the actual toy from the box!
FINISHED PROJECT!
Cover your toy with plastic and let us protect it from our oily hands or unwanted things. ;D
Hope you like my steps and guidelines for toy caring.
additional info: you can also use bubble film to cover your precious toys!
hope this help and thanks for looking!
