Hehe, this is an OT (old testament) ;D
I would like to help based on my experience and my own style (How I do it, ok
).
1. whats the best paint to buy?
- I prefer Tamiya Acrylics if you have an airbrush. i also use Spray can laquers.
2. is it ok to do it by hand?
- It depends. But for me, it is better and kinda wise to use handbrushing for small parts or for detailing. While airbrushing/spray cans for the whole, big parts.
3. how do you remove the line markings when you put the kit together? (di ko alam tawag )
-Eliminating the seam lines is easy. What you need are just sandpapers (I have 400, 600, and 1000 grit wet/dry), a plastic cement (a lot in there like tamiya cement, Tamiya cement S, thin cement, etc), and of course the paint, better use a primer first for it covers the scratches and markings, but not the visible details of the plastic.
a. First, sand the parts and cut the sprue thingy on the parts. Test fit the parts to be connected. Or if you dont want to, that's fine.
b. Now, brush or apply the cement on the part where you will eliminate the seam lines (on the ends of the parts)
c. Then connect the two parts. When connected to each other, you'll see some of the cement coming out from the seams.
d. Apply another cement on the connected parts (on the seam line where you see the cement ok). And wait for it to dry.
e. After it dries, sand it w/ sandpapers (320 or 400 first, then go up to like 600, then for a smooth and finishing touch 1000-1500) till it smoothens up and till you don't see the seam lines. The paints will cover everything. Again, Primer is the best to conceal the scratches, then paint after priming.
4. where is the best and cheapest place to buy?
- I don't know actually. ;D Only at Lil's Futaba I bought the paints and some other tools when I was back there.
5. are the pylox at hardware stores good paint? or will destroy the kit?
- I don't know either. ;D Try the tamiya hobby paints dude.
6. where can i get gundam markers?
- You can buy it on online stores if not available on local stores like Lil's. HLJ, Rainbowten, Hobbyfan, gundamstoreandmore, etc.
7. am i annoying for a newbie modeler?
- Kind of. Hehe! ;D
