hey guys, share ko method ko sa panel lines, simple lang pero it works for me. start ako sa unpainted built mech, detail paint ko un konti parts that needed to be painted para di kuna gamitin un mga stickers (like eye parts, etc. using the picture of the mech on the box as a guide). then sa panel lines, gamit ko humbrol paint diluted with humbrol thinner with paint to thinner ratio 1:1 (pag kase normal painting 2:1 ratio gamit ko, kaya ito 1:1 a bit runny un mix para mag flow sa panel lines). maganda kumapit un humbrol sa untreated plastic (base on my personal experience, other builders may say otherwise), using #00 brush, kahit me lagpas ok lang. let dry a few minutes, then dampen a cotton buds sa humbrol thinner. squeeze a little bit un dampen buds to remove excess thinner. then i just lightly rub un lagpas paint. voila! perfect panel lines every time. after totally dry, coat kuna with semi gloss gunze from spray can (kakatamad kase mag linis ng airbrush, coating lang naman). hope this helps, simple pero effective and clean, hope it works for you too. important note: pag hindi pa din kumakapit un humbrol sa untreated plastic, you can wash it first with soap and water para maalis un chemicals dun sa plastic from the molding process (kudos to shepard paine). pag hindi pa din kumapit, ewan kuna (joke only, usually kumapit na yan, maganda kase un covering properties ng humbrol, again base on my experience, other builders may say otherwise). tnx, best regards to all. on the side: sino una maganda kunin sa 1/60 scale? gundam strike, freedom or destiny? gundam experts, please lend me your expert opinions. cno pinaka astig sa kanila?

me question ako... alam ko nasagot na ito noon pa pero nakalimutan ko na. what are the difference in the following with regards to their characteristics:
1. acrylic paints 2. enamel paints 3. lacquer paints
may advantage ba ang isang paint from the other?

mannyD: I suggest that you get the Strike. Simple yet beautiful in structure! ;D Biased! NExt would be the Freedom. There is no Destiny in the 1/60 scale though.

Acryclic can be water based or IPA (isopropyl alcohol 90%) (non-toxic) 2. Enamel is thinned by OMS or Lighter fluid (toxic when swallowed ;D) 3. Lacquer (is actually synthetic lacquer) is thinned by lacquer thinner. (toxic) you can paint acyrylic over enamel and lacquer. Enamel over lacquer but not acrylic, and you cannot paint lacquer over acrylic and enamel. Of all lacquer is the best in quality at kapit. It won't usually chip-off. While acrylic can easily chip-off it is the most easiest to AB because it is non-toxic and you can use plain water to clean. Enamel is in between. I usually use Enamel for panel wash or for painting small details.

I have all the 1/60 kits from the Seed and Destiny Line. Also the Striker weapon system. If you plan to buy the PG Strike, I suggest that you don't buy the Strike or Striker weapon sytem. Else I think this set is better than the Freedom and Impulse 1/60.
