hey guys, im on a quest for knowledge here. do you happen to know a movie wherein the MAIN CHARACTER has no NAME in the movie? he was never mentioned, called upon, and even in the credits. whats written on the credits for the main character's name is "XXXXX" or something of the sort.
i know of two movies: 1. WATER WORLD (kevin costner) 2. LAYER CAKE (daniel craig) + 3. HERO (jet li, courtesy of no3ljm) 4. FIGHT CLUB (edward norton, courtesy of itemtracer) 5. DESPERADO and its prequel EL MARIACHI (antonio banderas and carlos gallardo, courtesy of thunderbreak) 6. KILL BILL Vol. 1 (uma thurman, courtesy of thunderbreak) 7. BULLETPROOF MONK (chow yun fat, courtesy of no3ljm) 8. THE GOOD, THE BAD & THE UGLY (Clint Eastwood, courtesy of no3ljm) 9. HIGH PLAINS DRIFTER (Clint Eastwood, courtesy of no3ljm) 10. PALE RIDER (Clint Eastwood, courtesy of no3ljm) 11. PAINT YOUR WAGON (Clint Eastwood, courtesy of no3ljm) 12. ONCE UPON A TIME IN THE WEST (Charles Bronson, courtesy of no3ljm)
please do post if you know something? thanks a bunch

Try "Fight Club" (Edward Norton, Brad Pitt) Edward Norton's Character's name was never mentioned in neither the novel nor the movie adaptation . The name that appears in the credits for the character is "narrator" because he basically narrates everything that happens to him in the movie. (SPOILER: Even though Brad Pitt's character is also Edward Norton's Character, The name "Tyler Durden" only applies to Brad's character.)

uma thurman's character from kil bill 1 and 2's real name is beatrix kiddo. if you guys have seen tarantino's reservoir dogs, all the main charecters were using aliases(mr. pink, mr. blonde, etc) clint eastwood's early western movies featured him as nameless (ronin) gunmen. although its interesting to note that a lot o those films were remakes of kurosawa
