I will have to see how this goes before I plan to get a PS3. Surely I won't let this pass because TENCHU will surely be in PS3 and I can't let that pass. I've let the XBOX and 360 Tenchus pass, but not for PS3. TENCHU is why I bought PS2 and I believe it will make me buy PS3.
Probably after a year when prices get cheaper and... you know, same old routine.

www.gamespot.com/news/6162083.html?tag=lastword;linkNew York Times not impressed I'm a big Play Sation fan but with the PS3's price and NY times review and other gaming sites i'm starting to be turned off by it. I love my XBOX 360 esp. Gears of War and Wii with its Zelda and Sports game. Both are very user friendly and esp. XBOX's Live service. I'll buy the PS3 eventually but its not one of my pririties this or next years'.

guys i read this ff. article in INQ7.net abt the PS3 launch here in the philippines:
The online Filipino PlayStation forum PinoyPSX.com reported that E2 Games and Toy Kingdom in the newly renovated Greenhills V-Mall are selling the PS3s. Forum members also reported seeing PS3s being sold in another shop in Shoppesville Arcade, also in Greenhills, and Avant in Makati City.
The shops have different pricing schemes for the PS3, which comes with either a 20-gigabyte or 60-gigabyte hard disk.
Hackenslash called up Toy Kingdom and Avant to confirm the availability of the PS3 units and their prices. Toy Kingdom only has the 60Gb model for 60,000 pesos while Avant, owned by electronics and appliance reseller Abenson, has announced just today, Nov. 20, that it was reducing its packages to 46, 000 pesos for the 20 Gb model and 59, 000 pesos for the 60Gb variant. Avant was originally selling the 20 Gb PS3 for 56,000 pesos and the 60Gb model for 70,000 pesos, based on the prices posted earlier on the PinoyPSX.com site.
Toy Kingdom and Avant said they have a one-year parts and service warranty.
Meanwhile, E2 Games is reportedly selling its 20 Gb unit for 45,000 pesos while its 60 Gb model is available at 60,000 pesos. A source also said that Cardinal Audio and Game Stop, both in Greenhills, are selling the 20 Gb PS3 for 45,000 pesos and the 60 Gb version for 58,000 pesos. Hackenslash has not yet been able to get in touch with these shops to confirm these prices as of this writing.

well...the kids who cant afford a PS3 sometimes ask their relatives or parents who are in the US or some foreign countries to buy them a brand new ps3 or even wait for the price to go down...after 2 or 3 years...
when the PS2 was launched..my dad was in the US so he bought one for me and my brothers...some friends of mine waited after a year to buy one ps2 unit

(imitates Yoda) strong the force is with you my young padawan..hmmm
btw V2...how much is your installment plan on the Wii?
how do u pronounce it by the way? is it "wee" or "wai"?
Nintendo Wii by the way is cool as the PS3 and the Xbox 360...esp. i like the controller..you can use it like a gun, or a sword, etc.

One more year, when the price drops. I'll just start purchasing the software first..................my strategy hehehe don't buy the games yet. by next year there'll be Greatest hits PS3 games already ($19.99 a pop). ;D Don't hold your breath on that price drop because Sony already is losing money selling the PS3 $200 less than the actual price to make each unit.

check out these gaming news from Yahoo:
Gamers say Wii has PS3 beaten
Since their debuts more than a week ago, two new game systems earn good grades from consumers - but the underdog Nintendo Wii is the early favorite over the pricier, sexier Sony PlayStation3.
Both sold out on Day 1: Nov. 19 for the $500-$600 PS3 and Nov. 21 for the $250 Wii. But Nintendo seems to be reaping the benefits of a better supply.
Overall, Sony is estimated to have shipped between 125,000 and 175,000 PS3s to stores, says American Technology Research analyst P.J. McNealy; the target had been about 400,000. Nintendo shipped between 425,000 and 475,000, he says.
Nintendo's launch "has been probably a little better than expected and Sony's has been a little bit more disappointing," McNealy says. "If you have to rank on who won this holiday so far, Microsoft is first, Nintendo a close second and Sony a distant third, which is a rare statement."
Many gave up on getting a PS3 and opted for the Wii, according to New Media Strategies, a research firm that monitored Web activity related to the systems. And 38% who sought a PS3 and were subjected "to sleep deprivation, lost wages, missed classes, the elements and even muggings came away from the experience with a bitter taste in their mouths," the report says.
About 49% of online discussions were favorable to Wii, compared with 27% for PS3. Says the firm's Sam Huxley: "The hype machine went too far." -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
£1 million worth of Xbox 360s stolen
Two consignments of Xbox 360s has been stolen in the UK this week, reports regional newspaper the Express and Star.
The first occurred after a lorry was flagged down travelling south on the A38 at Hillards Cross. The driver, who thought he was being waved down to inform him of a problem with his vehicle, pulled over. The men then threatened him and dragged him out of the cab, they then made off with the lorry and £750,000 (approx $1.5 million) worth of consoles. The driver suffered minor injuries, and the lorry was later found--empty--further down the A38.
The second theft occurred in the Hellmann Worldwide Logistics depot on the morning of November 23, when a trailer containing £250,000 ($483,000) worth of Microsoft's next-gen consoles was taken.
Staffordshire police spokesman Peter Stevens said, "We are appealing for information from anyone offered [the consoles] in suspicious circumstances, such as in a pub, at a car boot sale, or off the back of a lorry, to help us track down those responsible."
