@ zankuro: thanks a lot there bro, but i really a good sight to see your collections as well.. ;D especially how that sazabi turned out.. @ gundam X: ehehe.. thanks. hmm, i prefer panic buying.. my wallet said so.. ;D Btw, a good idea. I could open a GT store here in cebu- will ask sir malvs though.. ehehe just kidding. He has an outlet or branch here in cebu which is hobbyshaft in banilad town center. The gundam business here in cebu is slow, there's a quite few collectors and kits are only a few as well. Btw, prices here are MONSTROUS for gundam kits to compensate the low # of collectors. @ vladhandsome: Thanks there sir.. I guess it was time, although my kits are saying "NOT NOW! WE'RE NOT READY YET!!". T'was my day off so I decided to post the pics...I guess I won't be building them or displaying them if the house isn't finished yet, I'm a bit lazy right now in getting them off the respective boxes and then putting them back in.. ;D ;D ;D

I went there when I was in Cebu 2 years ago. Wasn't able to go inside though as the staff told me they do not allow civilians to enter their operations area. But I was able to get information from my colleague's relative that works at that factory.
They manufacture plastic parts and kits for Tamiya. You know those car kits and those Lets&Go race cars? They make those, ship them back to Japan for quality check, packaging and distribution.

@ rainero: there's one here in cebu.. I say it's pretty old since I had a fieldtrip once in this place when I was at my first year in high school.. @ jq: Yup!! They do make plastic kits but the end product does not stay here in the philippines- it gets shipped to Japan for rechecking. My old friend once worked in the factory and that's where his collection started since he has this "underground" practice to keep the "trash" and recycle it. From what I've known during the field trip- they were manufacturing the models from Let's GO. That's when I had one too. @ PilapZ: Yeah, but what an irony it is. We do have the factory but.. it's just a FACTORY- to produce those kits and then, shipped to Japan, nothing is left for PH. ;D There's actually a tamiya store here in Ayala Cebu but the prices would kill you...

The system of mercantilism (can't remember if that's the term) - we had our natural resources & manpower for because of low labor & cheaper materials but they (japanese) check for quality control, label it & ship it back to our country & sell it.

ehehehe.. Even the PUJs have their tag "TAMIYA" since the place is really big and most people refer to this place when they go to somewhere near on this side of the island. I have a friend whom I usually visit near the vicinity (just 20 steps though from the entrance- and you'll get to their house) but never had a chance to go inside the place .
