Hi guys. I'm thinking about getting a PS3 80gig. I've heard that they're releasing a newer version without the Emotion Engine so it isn't Ps2 backwards compatible anymore, is this true? If so, how do you check which is which? I prefer to get the one that's backwards compatible since I do have a couple of original PS2 games. Also, are there any advantages to getting an 80 rather than a 40 gig PS3 aside from the larger disk space? Thanks in advance. Gold

Bad new Gold, the last backward compatible PS3 80 gog version is the Metal Gear Guns of the Patriots package.

Thanks Airraid, that was very informative. I didn't know it could play Ps1 games as well (more or less if I'm reading that right.) Thanks for the headsup Fenrir, Hmm, I just might get the MGS4 set then, the last time I checked it was still being sold at Eyo Games, hope it's still there. Gold
