A very touching story about your friend shido :-)
I agree that most of us went through the stage when we save money just to buy stuff we really want not just gundam kits also, I remember the time when I was in highschool, I do not eat during recess or lunch just to save money so that I can buy an FG 1/144 kit, most of them are still on my display cab
hope he finishes his studies and I believe Zero will not be his last kit

Very nice story for every collector here to look back on old kits and cherish our collections, may it be old or new, damaged or restored... I suggest that you invite your friend to register in this message board so he can continue with his hobby of collecting gundam models. He may find the kits he's looking for here at a lower price than what he expected and he can get tips on modelling as well. Nothing must stop you from your passion, tell your friend that.

this brings back old memories...me and my dad used to argue so much b/c im spending my cash on gundam which seemed like a waste to him. now, im studying in australia and gaining $$$ for allowance. now, everytime i go on vacation in manila my abode of happiness is greenhills shopping center!!! mwahahahahah! see, there is always an end to suffering. lesson; we earn our right to fondle gunpla with our hands sooner or later
