So I've been watching Mobile Suit Gundam 00 on the sci-fi channel lately and I've been thinking about the models... i haven't seen gundam models here in the U.S since well... the Mobile Fighter G Gundam era... which was what, 2002?
So my question is, will there be any more gundam models here? like in local stores that is. I've been to my near by anime store but they haven't got any shipment of gundams since 2005. meh i can just buy one off eBay but i hate paying for shipping and the item as well. The last gundam i got was a Freedom gundam and a red zaku from my Uncle who lives in Japan for Christmas.
So is there any idea on this? will there be any gundams here soon or at all? Will i have to buy my gundam supplies on eBay only?
Any answer will be great, even a "lol wut?" will do.
Thanks.

I don't think there'll be more supplies of gundam here in the US, at least for now.... I collect action figures rather than kits but US also stopped producing these figures since Gundam SEED. I think Gundam toys doesn't sell as much like before since Gundam TV series' now are either shown really late at night or only released on DVD... unlike Wing and G before... kids can watch it. They used to have a bigger audience that helps in selling their "toys". But because of war (US vs Iraq... etc) , I believe, they limit showing the Gundam shows to mature viewers. You know... Gundam is all about war. On getting Gundam kits, you can buy at different online shops. Not just ebay. You can try www.hlj.com and www.gundamstoreandmore.com . Thats all I can think for now. I'm not really sure with model kits cos I collect action figs.... Hope this help.

I wouldn't lose hope, though. I think every first world country has its share of anime fans, and with that, retailers that specialize in anime-related merchandise. Their merch might be a little more pricey than usual, but that's due to the added cost of shipping and other logistical concerns. Heck, I was able to find an anime shop in downtown Geneva that sold Gundam figures and kits, so if I figured if I could find a Gundam there, I think I can find one in most other developed countries.

Your best bet is checking out the list of stores who advertise in anime related magazines, chances are you can find a location close to where you are and save the time of waiting for an online purchase. If that doesn't work google is your friend... ;D I'm in the Philippines but I tried mailing the adresses I got from Finescale Modeler magazine a few years ago when email was not yet this big...

Well devilgene... Gundam model kits are not as much as appreciated here in U.S.... As far as I can remember the first model kits with large distribution including Toys R Us started with Gundam Wing and G Gundam series... this introduce the so called model kit Gundams to U.S. viewers... The marketing feedback was low (a lot of fans does not want to assemble/paint the kits and it breaks easily upon play) Bandai made the MSIA action, which for a time pleases the U.S. fan base...
There are some local suppliers that sell Gundam kits but very few with freaking ridiculous price... sample the 1/100 Kyrios, store has a tag of $35+tax that you can buy for just $25+shipping... I suggest you buy kits online, the more the better so that you can save more on shipping charges...
Availability of Gundam kits locally depending on the State your in.... In California there is a lot of anime stores... Here in Chicago it's just one local store that offers it...
