there are some collectors who are saying that the jap. version of rotf prime is better than the hasbro version. is this true? the only difference is the color of the neck area.

A warning for those who will get ROTF Leader Class Prime. Supposedly, there's a weak spot in the chest lock? Quinjester over at RobotJapan broke his due to the weak joint. He recommends carving these grooves into the chest to help minimize the lock from breaking. Gold A follow up to my original post. I finally had the chance to fiddle with Prime (Thanks to good friends who helped getting him for me while I was away. ) For those who haven't played or gotten their LC ROTF Primes yet, here's the problem. To transform, you have to detach this connection here: It's tricky because the crappy manual doens't show anything but just arbitrarily lifting up the whole thing in one panel. It's not that simple. You have to slide out that peg on the side (marked green) to detach the chestplate. The plastic is indeed thin and if you're not careful and just force the pull, it will break. Granted some folks won't have this problem if you're adept at transforming complex toys like Binaltech and Masterpiece and know how to apply the right amount of force to pop out the peg, but to the general non-collecting public and kids below 15 years old, yeah, that's going to be a problem(hell, I'm sure to a kid, opening an Optimus Prime you begged your parents for and breaking it 5 minutes into playing with him is going to be traumatic). Even if you are used to transforming it, the plastic on the peg is so thin, it will break at some point if you do repeated transformations I believe. Doing the modification I posted in the first pic is one solution, another solution I found is to trim the peg a bit (with a nail cutter perhaps), it won't look as bad as cliping the chest area. Of course this is up to one's choice. I'm not sure if the pegs break though if the "Mech Alive" gimmick will be affected but somehow I think it will be. Gold

Nice pics BTW, I have a question to those who already have the fallen voyager-class figure. What do you gus think are those foldable wings with the little pegs for? The one on the fallen's side in robot mode.

just wondering, am I imagining things or the individual components of the big Devastator will not change into individual robots/insects? They are only vehicles and then they combine into the big Devastator?
Are there 2 Devastator toys for the ROTF line? A small one and a big one?

@gian. Yup, the big Devastator only separates in vehicle mode and they do not transform into individual bots. There are two Devastator toys of ROTF. The big one(I really forgot what class.. Supreme class I think..) And the small one w/c separates in both vehicle and bot form just like the G1 Devastator.
