It's taken forever but Mattel will finally release Ghostbusters based on both the movie and "The Real Ghostbusters" toon just in time to celebrate the 25th Anniversary. toynewsi.com/news.php?catid=241&itemid=14026The toys will be available in 12" and 6" scale and will be sculpted by the Four Horsement.  I'm actually surprised this happened. Last I heard the reason why the NECA Ghostbusters line didn't work was that Bill Murray (who played Peter Venkman in the movies) didn't want his likeness to be copied in toy form. Gold |

thanks for the info, gold. ;D wow, it's about d@rN time!  i've been a huge ghostbusters fan for a loooong time. i re-watch the two movies at least once every year. and sculpted by the four horsemen. the same company that sculpted the new masters of thhe universe classics. that is great news! personally, i'd like it to be more "realistic", i.e. more like the movies than the cartoon series. what do you guys think? hope there will be pictures soon! i'm excited to see how this line will go. i wonder what made bill murray change his mind. he was also the one who "held up" the ghostbusters 3 movie, which anyway has not seen the light of day because studios were worried about the cost of translating into film dan aykroyd and harold ramis' vision for the movie. too bad, because i heard even ernie hudson was excited to reprise his role as winston zeddmore. but i heard bill eventually signed off to lend his voice to the ghostbusters video game. |

Hehe, I'm still hopeful about this line but supposedly Bill Murray and Ernie Hudson have yet to sign off for approval on the figure's likeness according to reports from the NYCC.

@ arch: they are going to make a slimer figure. if you look closely at the ray stantz pictures, you'll see slimer's left hand peeking ;D that dana barret minimate looks like tina turner on steroids  that's what happens when you "cross the streams" hehe |
