I really jumped when I first read this but unfortunately it's under the Mecha(nical) Action Series (MAS) line. That line is a a pvc figure line for CMs Corp and will not have any diecast. A standard MAS figure size is around 5" tall. www.collectiondx.com/news_item/03112009/cms_mechanical_action_series_mekander_roboThe MAS line has turned out some decent Braves figures. With Gaogaigar being the most usual character done (the MAS has better paint and joints than the Yujin GGG figures). A standard MAS figure also has more heft than a standard Revoltech figure. No idea on how it stacks up to the Yamato GN-U figures since I never bought those. Gold

wow, thanks for the info, gold! i also almost fell out of my seat when i read the title of this thread. well, even if it was all plastic, at least we're getting a new treatment of mekanda at looooooong last. and if it has joints similar to revoltech, adn all those accessories including the three mekanda ships, then i'm definitely sold! do you think this could be CM's way to test the popularity of mekanda so they'll know if it's worth releasing a diecast version (similar to goshogun)?

Hard to say, CM's released a lot of Braves figures but so far only Baan Gaan and Gaogaigar ever got to "Diecast Status" so personally I don't think the sales figures of a MAS figure is an indicator for a Gokin version (I could be wrong though ) Gold

New images from MR forums Looks like CMs made this guy pretty functional! They also included two sets of vehicles, big and small (Mekanda starts out small and "grows" after combining in the second half of the series). It even disconnects. Hmm.. on second thought it might not be a good thing given Cm's track record for joints and connections. Gold

hi guys can you please refresh my memory, is mechanda robot a three part robot, meaning that its head, body and torso detaches from each other? from what i remember, mechanda is a single robot and the three vehicles combine into one and that one alone goes to the back of mechanda to activate him right? thanks

Thanks for the image Jaybats. Robin, Yep, both are true. Mekanda started out with just Mekanda 1-2-3 jets combining, then plugging into Mekanda robo. Halfway through the series, Mekanda gets trashed, the Prof unveils a remade Mekanda, this time smaller, disconnected and is launched from 4 vehicles (2 jets, 2 land vehicles). Mekanda would then combine, and grow exponentially and the vehicles now dock inside Mekanda. Gold

More detailed images of Mekanda. www.toysdaily.com/discuz/viewthread.php?tid=92241Seems like this baby is going under "MAS DX" banner after all. Will stand at approximately 18Cm (7 Inches) and will cost a whooping 12,800 Yen!! For an all PVC figure with zero diecast that's a hefty price tag. Tentatively out in June 2009 I think, but CM's Corp.'s main site has yet to post anything about it. Strange.. Gold

i was so excited when the news first came out. i'm still excited about having a brand new mekanda robo toy. but the price (and the paint job, as robin pointed out) is kinda disappointing especially for a non-diecast toy...
