After being left in the display cabinet for a year, I pulled out my Gojgiga and tried powering it up. It was walking quite well until the rubbercaps began popping off, particularly at the legs. It also happened to one of the used genobreakers I've bought. I guess the rubbercaps has a tendency to lose it's grip after a while. Did some of you ever came across this same problem with other zoids?

Some of my old zoids have loose rubber caps. Like my zoids 2 ultrasaurus.
Well I've observed that some of the big zoids do have tight fitting caps due to thick pegs. Sometimes you'd even see the caps having a bulky mid part after inserting it on a big peg.

i have the same problem with my Proto Gojulas Giga. So you're not the only one with a Giggles that keeps its rubber caps

I'm not sure, maybe there are. Even if there are spares, the same rubber caps would be subjected to loosening just like the rest who preceded it. Not unless you glue the caps directly to the pegs, it'll probably fall or pop-off after a while no matter how many times you replace them. I guess the problem is more prominent on the big bipedal zoids where the stress generated by its movements is concentrated on the hips and legs. Plus the fact that some pegs have a bigger diameter than the caps, the caps would be forced to stretch and making it loose its grip in the process.

Hmm....
Maybe you could try putting a thin coating of white glue inside the rubber caps. Dilute the glue with a little water, then use a paintbrush to coat the inside. You may need several coatings. The trick is to just make the rubber caps grip again, right?
Yeek, weird idea, dunno if it'll work. If it doesn't, you can just pull the dried glue out.

I also have this problem with my old zoids. But on my part, the caps are not that loose that they would fall on walking.

The last time I switched on my large zoids everything went smoothly, no popping caps nor were there any unusual sounds emanating from the zoids' moving parts However some of my batt-opt vintage are having problems keeping itself together when swithched on. The caps become brittle and loose its elasticity over time that they pop out at the slightest torque from the motor

Adelaine has a good idea. we can use paper glue (elmers?) to paste the rubber in the peg so it wont fall off. that's exactly the same problem w/ mine...loose rubber. aside from that, the 'mode change' thing is also loose when i make it walk in fight mode ( ). don't want to glue that part though

maybe due to dismantling ur kits very often could be the reason. in may case when i clean the kits i do remove the legs so im subjected in removing the caps. but on my side kits that has loose caps are those medium ones only. not on the big kits.

Speaking of old kits, some of the caps on my OJRs had cracked particularly the small ones like the kind of caps used by the command wolf. The rubber seems to have lost its elasticity and finally gave out.

same as mine, those caps can easily loose its grip. got lucky since i do have spare cap for those kits. applying elmers glue can also be a solution, but i found this glue (which i dont know the name) wherein its better than the elmer but not that tough compared to mighty bond glue. it has a clear texture. very good for colored kits since no discoloration will appear when applied compared to other glues. the brand is i think BIC.

maybe due to dismantling ur kits very often could be the reason. nope. never dismantled them. just lost its "grip" while making it walk in its tail-up-and-head-down stance. Speaking of old kits, some of the caps on my OJRs had cracked particularly the small ones it does happen. but as aris said, you can replace it with the NJR ones. not sure if its the sunlight, heat, humidity or composition of that rubber.
