Same with me. I have both GX31 Voltes and GX43 Daimos. Still thinking if I will get GX50 Combattler v2 just to complete the trilogy. But after seeing GX50, im hoping they will also make a v2 of voltes. Now this is where I will put my budget into.
I also wonder if Bandai will make a Camp Big Falcon for GX31. Can no longer find the Campbig Falcon bootleg base.

Good thing i have not bought GX-03. Have both GX31 and GX43 thinking of buying GX03 just for the sake of completing the trilogy. I guess GX50 just saved my day. Looks way better now.
I wonder if bandai will do the same changes for GX31.

One thing I noticed on Gold's review, you forgot to pull the foot out during your initial daimos pics. I hope that did not scratched the tail lights of your daimos.
I just got mine from Japan Jan 2009. 9800 yen. My opinion. this is way better than SOC voltes, more weapons, more diecast more articulation except for the hips. (due to transformation considerations).
My gripe about Daimos, transformation is just too tight!! And you can not transform daimos using the regular (moving) fingers that come right out of the box. (unless Im wrong). You have to swap it to the tight fist (punch) hands for it to fit into the tranzer.
I agree with gold, the wrists should be die cast. Or, they should have made the plastic material of the swappable hands similar to Voltes' hands. Softer plastic which to my opinion are more durable and easier to snap in and out.
One more thing, I figure the position of the galvia is out of place. There is a high risk of breaking the stand when in tranzer mode as the clearance is so small. An accidental bump will surely break it. Due to that I am planning of modifying the display stand and put the galvia on top the weapons rack. Drill a small hole and put it there. Will try to post a pic when I have finished the mod.
Other than that I still have no major gripes as i have not thoroughly examined my unit yet.

I agree with Gold on the GX-31X camp big falcon! Hopefully Bandai makes one of those, but I doubt that they will make one. Maybe after 5 years when the sales have gone down and Bandai will be forced to make new toylines.
With the daimos thing, I believe Bandai can pull that one out.
Because some company has already made the perfect change getter robot. The planes can transform to the three robots. Have not seen it yet, but Greattoys have one of those in stock this March 2007 if not mistaken. Have not checked the reviews of the robot yet, but the previews are good!

I have been checking my SOC GX31. Hopefully I can answer some of your concerns.
1. Volt lander antenna: well it seems to be the unbreakable type plastic. But pulling it seem to bend the plastic giving it a bent antenna look. So all i do is get a piece of credit card / plastic prepaid phone card. shove it into the antenna in the folded position, and you should be able to fold the antenna without applying too much stress on it.
2. Crewzer 1 not locking into place. Have inspected and there is no tab. But there is a way to make crewzer one stay in place. From head position, as you fold it to aircraft mode. Put a slight tug while folding it, when the ship gets in place, release your 'slight' tug, the ship will pull itself as if tightening itself back to position. (in tagalog, parang naka-ipit into place) dunno if this will cause paint chiping issue though.
3. Uneven paint on voltes' mouth Are you referring to the nose portion? If yes, it is only the shadow generated by the light. look at your voltes at a different angle, it should look fine.
4. Hernia problem: This is a design limitation. If you push the joints back behind the shorts, if you look at voltes side view, the legs of voltes is not centered to the shorts. The legs will be positioned at the back of the shorts. So center of gravity will shift forward, making voltes to topple forward. To eliminate this issue, you have to pull the legs forward to the center of the shorts. So one have to choose between aesthetics and stability.
One way I found to eliminate the problem (I am a bit OC), pushing the legs into the shorts plus preventing it from toppling forward is to spread the legs a little bit. and twist the thigh outwards by 15 to 30 degrees, and you will have a much stable voltes.
Some problems that I have found on my unit: a. voltes left ankle ball joint is really loose. So you can't do much poses with voltes if the weight is more to the left foot. You have to do a lot of balancing to achieve it.
b. voltes right shoulder, raising the arm sideways will not leave it in position. The joint is also loose. Unlike the other shoulder which is tight.

I on the other hand got my GX31 just this March.
Regarding the waist issue, to my opinion it seems that it was purposely designed that way. Instead of giving voltes a solid waist, the design enables the waist area to bend forward. The drawback to this is you will see the waist splitting behind of voltes, but even with this pose, the unit is still stable. Im not sure if this was part of the design or a function made by accident.
Have a few questions regarding Ban Dai QC problem. Voltes left ankle seems to have a loose ball joint compared to the right ankle. And voltes' right shoulder when lifted to the side is some kinda loose. Both parts mentioned won't stay in place unless you balance it perfectly well. Is this the same issue with you GX31s?
Thanks

Sidelink,
I got mine from greattoys at cash price around Php 9,000. So far to my opinion, greattoys has the most reasonable price from the other toystores I have visited.
You should be able to get them in greattoys, makati, greenhills, or libis branch. Judging from your location, get from Makati, Gold crest center.
