Time for a new haul, my first Macross 7 unit from Yamato. Yamato 1/60
VF-22S Sturmvogel II Max JeniusfromMacross 7In the later part of the Protodeviln War, the Macross 7 military has been authorized to use the illegal reaction weaponry to destroy the Protodeviln. Commander Maximilian Jenius devised a plan called "Operation Stargazer," where small units of Valkyries will enter the Protodeviln planet and rush to Polar Star, the cave where the Protodeviln bodies are in hiding. As the forces began to deplete, Max decided to once again jump into a Valkyrie's cockpit to deliver the reaction weapon on his own. Max flies on the "Blue Gazer," a VF-22S Sturmvogel II bearing his trademark blue color scheme. While Operation Stagazer suffered casualties and didn't succeed, Max would once again fly on the Blue Gazer in the final chapter of the Protodeviln War alongside Miria's red VF-22S. And of course, a slideshow of it with "Holy Lonely Night" as the BGM. First of all, I never bothered to take photos of Gerwalk and Battroid modes due to some problems I had with the tedious transformation and some stability issues for Battroid. Nonetheless, I'm very happy with the acquisition of this item. The VF-22S is big, it's even bigger than a 1/48 VF-1 toy. There were a few disadvantages to this such as the guns requiring to be stowed away (no, you can't have them on the belly like the YF-21), but the overall impact and presence of this on the toy display more than makes up for it. Thanks for looking!

Some new hauls: Yamato 1/60 VF-22S Sturmvogel II Max Yamato 1/60 Fold Booster and YF-19 Fast Packs I intend to use the Fold Booster for the VF-22S to replicate its very first appearance in Macross 7's 44th episode. Pics of Fighter mode to come soon. Not sure yet about Gerwalk and Battroid since the transformation was quite tedious. TFL

I think the VF-0S is now okay. The shoulders have been fixed since the 0S+Ghost Booster set was released. As for the 19, I think it's the same as before.

My first toy haul for the year! S.H. Figuarts Ex
Machine Decader (Tamashii Web Exclusive) Well, I totally have mixed feelings with this bike. I'm glad that I wasn't that all too excited by the time I got this bike otherwise I might've gotten a bit of a letdown. While some people see the bike as a little too small, it's still within tolerable range especially when Kamen Rider Decade isn't riding it. It looks really nice with good detailing and the usual steering and suspension features. Though there are some flukes about this item such as the visible sprue cut mark (check the third thumbnail above) and the weight of it. The bike is so light, the weight doesn't even compare to the regularly released Cyclone. As for my recommendation part, I would really recommend the item if you're a hardcore bike fan, a completist or a Decade fan. However, I won't suggest getting all excited for this since it's just a normal nicely-made bike that doesn't boast any other feature to make it excel above the other items released in its line. Furthermore, I would suggest waiting to get this on sale, since, IMHO, the 4500 yen or so tag price of it doesn't fit the bill. Thanks for looking!

I got bored, so I took a photo. I really like the way CM's Macross Collection figures blend in well with Yamato Valkyries when it comes to photos. Here's Max Jenius with his VF-1S Valkyrie based from the Macross: DYRL movie. Thanks for looking!

Well, both items seem to have the 4k yen SRP. Hardboilder was cheaper as far local stores are concerned, though. But I have the feeling it's more rare than Cyclone now.

Anyway, here's a surprising buy. I actually had the original 6 figures from the set but seeing another set being sold including the secret figure, I just had to get it. So I bought that set, ended up with duplicates of the 6 figures and the secret which is... CM's Macross Collection Part 3
Maximilian Jenius Flight Suitfrom Macross: Do You Remember Love And with that, I finally complete the Macross Collection Part 3 figures. Back row (left to right):Maximilian Jenius Flight Suit (secret figure, from Macross DYRL) Isamu Dyson (from Macross Plus) Maximilian Jenius Zentradi (from Macross DYRL) Front row (left to right):Flower Girl (from Macross 7) Shammy Milliome (from Macross DYRL) Roy Focker in VF-1 cockpit (from Macross DYRL) Lynn Minmay (from Macross DYRL) The secret figure is actually very hard to find and very sought-after by Macross fans mainly because it's Max, and there's a lot of Max fans out there. I'd say this set is really a nice buy for Max fans since you get two figures of him, and the Zentradi one can fit in the Yamato Queadluun-Rau. Really nice set and highly recommended for Macross fans. While Valkyries are one of the most prominent icons of Macross, I believe that I should also get more of these trading figures since it's also the characters that give life to the series. Thanks for looking!
