I first saw this anime in a Papippo PC japanese magazine. Noticed the character designs were kinda cute........little did I know it was done by Rin Shin (La Blue Girl/Twin Angels)

Anyway........I managed to first order a MOOK, Wordsworth Perfect Collection special from Comic Oddessey, which later I discovered the OVA originated from a PC Game.

Since I liked the animation/designs a lot, I managed to snag the first five original US release NUTECH (uncensored) volumes from an American source (cost me a leg and an arm back in 2002.)

Characters:

Astral/Pollux: lead character (sort of like Keitaro of Luv Hinna, he sounds a lot like Keitaro too), blundering prince who manages to get to score with all the ladies.

Sharon: Captain of the Guard of Tribe of Shadow

Kaiser: Shadow tribe's greatest swordsman, (Sharon's secret crush)

Waterseeker: King of the Shadow tribe (Astrals "step father") seeker of the Wordsworth tablet)

Fabris: King of the Light Tribe, Maria's father

Maria: sorceress of the Light Tribe, Mews mother

Silvanna: (sister?) of Maria, warrior of the light tribe.

Mew: Maria's daughter by???, another sorceress in part deux.

Rita: another warrior of the Light Tribe (she is bronze skinned)

Delta: (Morrigan look a like) of the Shadow tribe

Nina:(Felicia look a like.....only cuter)training instructer for shadow clan warriors, mother of Ariodonne.

Arriodone: key of the conflict, daughter of...............

Menzo and Tessia: Advisors to the Light and Shadow clan........aka .....lord of darkness.

Synopsis: Due to the transition from PC to OVA, a lot of the other female victims........... ;)characters were removed................(only two resurrrected, Persia and April in Gaiden)

Vol. # 1
Legend has it that a tablet, written by god himself, once deciphered, will reveal all the secrets of the universe.............eons ago, someone destroyed the tablet, leading both tribes (Light as in normal overworld dwellers.........humans) vs (Shadow underworld dwellers, magical/immortal beings) in an eternal conflict.

Lead by a bad@ass leader Waterseeker, the Shadow tribe has a wimpy prince....Astral who is bethroth to Sharon ( who looks down on him.....though somewhere along the lines...she actually has feelings for him)

Not only must Astral bear the contempt of Sharon ( he lacks a swordsman's license/ which he was forbidden by his dad WS, who protects him for some unknown reason)

During an attack of the Light Clan, Astral takes advatage of the situation by getting a license from the uber kawai Nina(cat girl), who also has feelings for him.

Without spoiling much, there are # 2 ecchi scenes, one between Stallion (a big dork of a horse man, anthropomorph human horse) who just loves interrogating lady prisoners (if you know what I mean) and Maria and a funny one between Astral and Maria............" let me in?........no to don't?"

Vol#2
More battle scenes, another interrogation scene between Silvanna and two "pig" brothers and Nina and Astral. Nina suffered from hypothermia thanks to a giant spider and needed to be "heated" by Astral.

Story was a bit dark because of a death Hyde, another wimpy warrior and the banishment of Astral by Maria.
It is in this episode that Sharon realized the importance of Astral in her life.

Vol# 3

Fast forward 20 years.......Pollux/Astral grew a beard, is a bad@ass amnesiac swordsman. He manages to rescue Mew, the young daughter of Maria who he later........scores. We get to see the two advisers of the Clans manipulating the war from the sidelines (Tesio and Mensa) who are actually a gestahlt (transformer term no?) of the king of darkness.

Delta( a Morrigan look a like) gets the "tentacle" treatment after being discovered by the two.

Vol# 4

Delta, under the influence of the Darkness, nearly kills Pollux, who now is making a pilgrimage back to the Shadow realm which was sealed by Maria. Ironically, she herself gave the key to Astral to re-open the realm. Together with a Light warrior Rita, both are serving the advance vanguard of Fabris' forces to re-invade the realm.

Sharon on the other hand misses Astral like crazy, much to the chargin of Kaiser.

Rita gets another "treatment" from Waterseeker who......................plans to create a mixture of light and shadow being in order to decipher the secret of Wordworth. His last hope was Astral who was lost in battle.
Sharon and Pollux meet in battle...................then

Vol#5
Quite funny and sad. All are revealed in the end. Sharon reunites with Pollux/Astral and ..... ;D Another funny is when Mew meets Sharon and Nina all of whom Astral scored with.
Darkness is defeated and a moral story is learned.

i loved this hentai. i just wasn't able to finish it. i don't have the last volume. but it was worth watching either way. i like the two pig torture scene best. hehehe. reminded me of dragon night and its tortuire scenes.

May I add, the Gaiden version, which chronicled the "adventure" of Astral between two more female characters Persia and April and three "shadow clan" ladies.

Basically, it occured between the events of Words Worth volume 1 and 2. The animation direction, was handled by another animator using Rin Shin`s original designs. (Much better than La Blue Girl Returns which didn`t look a bit as kawaii as Rin Shin designs her work) but the quality is not as good as the original IMHO. (Example.................when April was being "manhandled" by Stallion, she had her underwear torn off, yet another scene, the fabric was still on.....(I`m very picky you know)

Again, there were two more ladies who were omitted from the PC to OVA.

In an anime site, there were scenes between Silvanna, Mew, Delta and Stallion and Mew and an Octopus in the PC (occuring supposedly in volumes 4 and 5 of ova). So you might be wondering what happened to Silvanna who was absent in volumes 3 to 5.

Besides the Gaiden vol. 1 and 2, in the Green Bunny site, there was supposed to be an episode that was not translated in english, events that occured after volume 5. It showed the domestic life of Astral, who is now living together with Sharon, Mew and Nina. ( I saw a scene with Mew wearing a bunny costume and Sharon cutting carrots in the kitchen)

Gaiden or Side story. In the case of Bible Black, episodes 1 to 4 chronicled the modern day adventures of Minase who found the bible, flashback to the past (in gaiden) to Takashiro who first used the bible in the past.

In Words Worth, owing to its popularity, created this "sidestory" to explain what happened to these two cuties. (Still left out a lot of the other cuties)
