i felt like giggling at the same time felt like throwing a shoe at my tv. endless transitions in the dialog from english tagalog english tagalog. how corny can we possibly get. thanks GMA got to watch it last night and i agree how corny the whole thing turned out. they should've stuck with either pure english or pure tagalog. either one would've been better than a taglish dubbed anime. the entire show sounded something like a filipino teen movie from the 80's. remember how corny sharon, gabby and the rest of the gang sounded back then? "kuha mo ako ng bottled water" BOTTLED WATER!?!? bkt d n lng ginawang "kuha mko ng tubig"? that wouldve sounded more natural.

Rohml's Official Reaction to Initial D
I liked Initial D, especially when it goes to the depth of trying to explain engine's set-up and the reason why Takumi's car was able to cross the uncovered gutter. I may really follor the series now.
As for the dubbing. Yup, it was in Tagalog. They do often revert back to English (As ALEX says) so it was not purely tagalog. But their Taglish is very much familiar to my ears (I'll get back to this later) Their reference to the word "Pare" come ok at first, then by the middle of the show it becomes funny and by the end of the hours its already redundant... They say the word like almost every end of the sentence. "You car has a nice set-up, PARE."... "That's why I chose them to be my alas, PARE"... "Blah blah blah, Pare." It maybe a staple inside joke between the cast of Initial D.
As for the voice actors... everyone sounded great, though Mateo (forgot the last name) doesn't voice act as good as the others, it could pass for his first time. But other actors, they were great, if they weren't speaking in tagalog they could have dubbed to English another show and I wouldn't have noticed it.
Ok, now for my earlier point. Their decision to transition between tagalog and english and vice versa was somewhat in good effect since most racers I've seen or those who can actually afford this kind of lifestyle has that kind of way of speaking.
Sorry for those that may get hurt... But they sound conio... ^_^; Which would make a lot of sense since only those who are well-off could be able to join these type of activities.
