I was watching some Animax, when I saw a plug about Initial D its appearance in Animax, apparently Angel Locsin of the GMA-7's Darna would be voicing one of the characters... sweet... Then I saw one of the scenes... Its was in Tagalog... I'm not against the use of our language in dubbing, but in Animax?! That's a first... Anyways, what's your reaction to all of these?

ganun tagalized yung Initial D na part 1 sa Animax yah maybe that's sucks pero at least we can understand it much better I hope they didn't change the name of the characters ;D ... hmmm about the HERO channel maybe it was a stand alone channel because i think we have lots of anime's that was dubbed in tagalog and its time to have a channel for us anime filipino fans to even understand better. ;D ;D ;D

That's what you get for too much fame. GMA manage to put their finger on the anime thing again... If they are planing to make ala' "WE are anime" i rather watch HERO channel instead, Ganun padin naman eh. GMA Is know to Over-exploit great anime and twist it too much to their will. I rather go with hero channel alright! And to think papalabas rin nila yung mga jap sentais shows like, Bioman, Shaider, Kamen rider Ryuuki ect... hehee

yah i hope they have there own rewind of old sentai's like Shaider, Maskman, Maskrider black, and others man I miss Shaider ang pulis pangkalawakan hehehe tsaka si Ani yun ba pangalan nun yung girl na dilaw yung palda tsaka di nag papalit ng damit per episode ng Shaider hahahaha .... ;D ;D ;D and yep your right there Anakin Skywalker I would rather watch HERO channel than in GMA 7 because we get to see everyday. I hope HERO channel will be a success and to think of it its still on a starting run this coming October and di pa siya ata 24 hours of tagalized anime.

I personally like Anime dubbed, as long as I could understand it.
Tagalog is alright, but I want it to be as pure tagalog as it can be. Taglish dubbed anime is far too corny for me. I could remember one episode in GMA-7's showing of Dragonball. Vegeta exclaimed: "Magiging akin ang Universe" That really turned me off, not that it was tagalized, but rather they tag-lished it, he should have said "Magiging akin ang buong kalawakan" and it would have sounded better.
Tagalized anime dubbing I have enjoyed very much are those that stick to the language as much as possible, using only english terms when there is no word for it in tagalog.
One of the those animes where ABS-CBN's Slayers and Magic Knight Rayearth. Every word that has conceivable tagalog terms where tagalized, Armor was translated to the tagalog word: "Baluti" and moves like Fireball was translated to its correct tagalog term "Bolang Apoy" and for some reason it had a good effect.
"Punla ng Karimlan" (which translates to Seed of Darkness) was one of those words that sounded great since those words weren't normally use."Kuko ni Diva" and "Kamao ng Liwanag" were terms that had for some reason had great effect, they don't sound corny at all.
I personally enjoy dubbed anime. I like watching Anime, I don't like reading it. I also miss a lot of detail in the scenes and the animation when I read the subtitles. Fansub animes are good since they retain the original voices given to the anime, but if I were to choose I'd go for dubbed ones.

Nothing against tagalog.....everyone speaks or at least understands tagalog. Its just there are some terms spoken in english that tend to sound redundant when use in conjuction with tagalog. Why not subs? It sort of like watching Transformers G1 US, you know the original characterization of Prime and Jazz, Starscream and Megatron...etc, then you hear the tagalized version.......blyuck! Or better yet, watch Disney's little Mermaid or Beauty and the Beast, then you tagalize it.....another bleyak!
Even more when you listen to echhi.............er wrong topic.

If they really make good work of the translation, I might consider it. GMA murdered almost every anime they shown! Even Gundam Wing and G!

If they really make good work of the translation, I might consider it. GMA murdered almost every anime they shown! Even Gundam Wing and G! hehehe yah they muredered some translation to it right now i was watching YuYuHaskusho o mas kilalang Ghostfighter mas nagustohan ko yung English dub version kaysa sa nung una kong napanuod sa GMA7. And also they have change the name of the characters to sounded it like more filipinos and that is not there real name in English. And also in Animax i didn't like the english dub voices in Saiyuki Reload and Wild Striker Striker Hungry Heart ang pangit ng boses. eeeww mas gugustohin ko pa nga yung Japanese na may english sub eh. And also nakapanuod ako ng english dub version ng GTO ang pangit din hehehe chinage ko na lang sa Japanese para mas ok. ;D

But if I were to choose between english and tagalog, it all depends on how they sound. true. not all english dubbed anime (or hentai) are good as much as not all tagalog dubbed are bad. have you heard the english dubbing for the digimon series? man that sucked eggs. big time. same goes for bible black. on the otherhand, yuyu hakushu in tagalog wasn't so bad. maybe it was because i heard it first in tagalog rather than in english. "papakita ko sayo ang isang daan at sampung pursyento ng aking kapangyarihan!!!" sounded cool and mean. one thing i do hate when they tagalize animes is when they change the names of the characters like they did for yuyu hakusho and flame of recca. although the first time i heard the name "eugene" i thought it was spelled as "Yujin" so i thought it was still japanese. *shrug* so sue me i was a kid back then ;D

another thing, can someone at J.P reverse knew about the possibility of adding the anime raijin-oh to hero TV in it`s original english version as well as reverting it`s OP,seen from the english-dubbed anime`s closing credits on RPN-9,back to the start and a Never-before seen ED they`ve cut-out?
