Which US publishing companies make good translations of manga? I'm thinking of exploring other titles, as my experience is limited to Studio Proteus/Dark Horse for my all time fave anime/manga Oh My Goddess!(They're great, but they do have a few goofs on Japanese culture-related points). Also which ones should be best avoided as well?

viz is good in converting manga to english, as well as tokyopop, you may also try the titles being offered by delrey. I also collect OMG from darkhorse but their manga line is quite few.

i think i like delrey's manga translation, as they always have the translation notes in the back in case of some clarifications...though i found some of their translations a bit off? like in gundam seed ORB is translated as Aube and many things...
vis and tokyopop is also good, but i don't like how tokyopop changes the title of the original mangas (ichigo 100% = 100% strawberry , Karin = chibi vampire and so on...)
