minor update on the dagame area and I cut out Zaku's side skirt for better movement plus am still debating whether I should cut off Gundam's waste parts into two pieces... img523.imageshack.us/img523/7431/p10507759tx.jpgimg523.imageshack.us/img523/2889/p10507748ep.jpgGundam's shoulder damage is now more in line with the techincal drawing... think of the outer skin of shoulder socket module blown away with the inner pipes exposed... they are basically four rods connected to make square box shape module...

I've decided to make Zaku as part of ground troop and Gundam as one of unofficial ground test unit sent to Earth for field test purpose... haven't thought of its designation number - probably RX-78-0 or RX-78-1 assuming Feds somehow managed to salvage the damaged Gundam prototype and sent to Earth for field evaluation after patched up. I've yet to decided the type of armour and colour scheme though I'm leaning towards the GM Ground type desert scheme... for Zaku I may ditch the olive altogether and opt for dark brown with heavy weathering simulating the unit has been on the field for extended period went thru numerous battles with not much of repair job in between... for the base I'm torn between city or desert... of course making desert will save me a lot of time compared to city where I will have to case the base and broken up to simulate the broken asphalt surface - may even need the bigger base to put the building??? Nah! that will be too much of work... Either way I will have to decide this weekend what type of base I will make... if anyone have any suggestion feel free to comment.

quick test fit of Gundam and pose variation for Zaku... [EDIT] while waiting for epxy putty to be cured I've been experimenting with alternative arrangement... what do yo think?

the pose of the zaku is nice. some ideas however: - more damage on the right hand - make it look like its shaken or really busted but still movable to "beg for mercy" - the pose of the gundam is somewhat too "superior". the scene would be somewhat like the gundam doesnt need to do a pose wherein it needs more "buelo"... its a zaku on its knees just waiting to die anyway... make it pose like its standing there, staring at the zaku while it begs for mercy, etc - something like those in the movies, etc. - more "wire damage" on the zaku.
jeez, i could've been a diorama director...

quick update. here's the inner frame for RX-78 ver 1.5 it's metallic grey on gun metal which is on the flat black with mix of silver base... and top'd with copper+fluorescent red/pink mix dry brushing... it's lot darker but the camera flash make them washed out though

still I haven't done much damage on the bridge except the broken hand rails... I may add more damage as things progress - not much happening due to not such good weather for air brushing... put the floor on the base and add the lines... I need to visit local hobby shop for some suitable 1/100 decals... [EDIT] now working on 1/100 scale figures... bl**dy buggers
