Hi guys I just wanna share my finished MG RX-78-2 ver. 2.0 ;D
I airbrushed the exterior armors ala max watanabe pre-shade technique. As you can see the colors are lighter than usual since I want this more anime accurate (and since I've been inspired by the designer colors of the 00 mobile suits ;D). As I said the eyes is painted standard mr. color yellow to denote shadows by the visor of the helmet.
This is actually the first MG kit I've airbrushed prior to the HG 1/144 Virtue and GN-X kits ;D
I've also panel lined this by enamel wash and used bandai water decals specifically made for the RX-78-2 ver 2.0 ;D
I didn't place too much decals since I want this simple and the design of the RX-78-2 is minimalistic so I went along that way. The decal set actually has 2 variations of the EFSF logo and name: One in gray and one in yellow. I used gray because the yellow parts has this shaded markings in it that makes the decal standout more and it kinds of takes out the simplicity of the design.
So here's the pics. Enjoy ;D
some close up shots:
weapons:
action shots:
"gundam ikemasu!"
Hehe I always laugh when the RX-78-2 Launches from White Base in the anime. They made his art funny ;D
Cover Box Art - I Can't seem to copy it perfectly
Classic pose - If I remember correctly this was the time Ryu died in a core fighter
with the gundam hammer - I need the G-fighter to complete this pic ;D
classic pose with the beam rifle
dual beam saber while fighting Char's gelgoog (or was it before while he was fighting the Gyan?)
My favorite bazooka pose
Weapon loadout at Au Baoua Qu ;D
I guess that's all for my pictorial with my MG RX-78-2 version 2.0. A tribute to the grandpappy of all gundams. what's a gundam collection without this mobile suit? ;D
thanks for looking! ;D
here's my next wip: from oldest protagonist ms in the gundam series to the newest ;D
Your model gives me the inspiration to take this hobby to the next level. I was happy with the snap build until I saw this. Very nice kit sir. I'm looking forward to your next pictorial. BTW, I may have not notice it, but what kind of kit is this (HG,MG,PG)?
