Check out my new signature! It's snowing in DIMENSION TWISTED!
Merry Christmas to all!
Just as "Christ" is put at the center of that greeting.. so should we remember that He is the center of this day's celebration! Happy birthday to Him!
Weeeeeeeeee!

nga pala.. the title of the thread is just a lil question I heard from Mad TV just the other night... Kasi nga naman.. Holiday is a very general term...

hey i like what you did with your sig. very... ummm... festive! hahaha. i think the term "holidays" would include thanksgiving, christmas and new year's. three holidays each celebrated in 3 different and consecutive months. i dunno if holloween is included. but if its, then it would mean 4 holidays in four consecutive months . just a guess ;D merry christmas to you too twisted and to everyone in the GT boards especially to sir malvs.

Yeah.. i guess you're right... It would be very tiring to say.. "Fruitful Thanksgiving, Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!"
HAPPY HOLIDAYS EVERYONE!!!

Happy Holidays strated out as "Happy Holiday" a substitution to "Merry Christmas" it expanded to "Happy Holidays" to include both Thanksgiving and New Year's celebration (as Patacat said) and now it also it also included other non-christian celebrations such as Hanukkah (Jewish Holiday - Festival of Lights) and Kwanzaa (A holiday honoring African-American heritage - which is celebrated from Dec 26 to Jan 1). But as a bonus the term now is also used as "a secular alternative for those who do not celebrate any religious holidays during the season". ------------------------------------------------------- I greet people with "Merry Christmas", but I greet my non-christian friends with "Happy Holidays".
