I just started a new hobby. Converting vcds to dvds. I already finished Daimos - the entire series dubbed in english, and I was able to fit 44 eps in 6 discs, and also M.D. Geist ( both movies) Pretty decent copies. Right now i'm doing Laserion, but I only have 18 eps. Next up is Danguard ace movies. Just thought I'd share this with you guys. This is a great hobby, especially if you have a lot of vcds and vhs movies collecting dust in your homes, you can just squeeze them to fit in one or two dvd discs. Here is a sample of the discs I've finished:

Well, if you were to choose between an orig $199 against a P100 software utilities combo disc including but not limited to dvd lab pro, which one would you buy? hehe. Hope I answered your question there, bud. As far as Batas Militar on vhs, I'm surprised they haven't released a dvd of that docu yet. For vhs to dvd, one needs a tv out for their pc to digitize the film. Which reminds me, I've gotta get one a those.

mga bro, since we're talking about DVDs, please share with me your opinions on unbranded DVD players sold in tyangges (you know, with "brands" like orange, etc.). are they of good quality? o madaling masira? is the P2,000 price tag worth it? saan makakabili ng mas mura? i want to switch from VCD to DVD kasi, though i find the P5,ooo tag price of the branded players as too steep. thanks!

Downloadable freeware is cool and all, but chances are youll just be dissapointed cause most of these freewares have limited functions. If you have P100 to spend , try looking for a cd entitled "Just about anything to anything converters 2005" and I bet you'll find what youre looking for there.

I totally agree, why spend 2,000 on an unbranded player that might be unusable in a years time. Save your money and buy a decent one. I use TCL, it reads everything even divx, just like Nextbase, I suppose.

archaznable and jaywalker: thanks for the tips! the only reservation i have of shifting to DVD is the sound. mas dumadagundong ang bahay pag VCD , lalo na pag action film ang pinapanood ko. medyo mahal pa kasi ang DVD component. of course, mas maganda pa rin ang visual ng DVD, kahit pirated.

No problemo dude, by the way, its daywalker, not jaywalker... and if sound is a concern, well you just hve to enter the world of the 5.1 surround speaker system. Just save your cash, hommes.
